Papa’s Poolside Jalapeno Poppers

Have you ever seen two more beautiful sisters?! I haven’t! They’re so adorable and precious!

We had a great morning at church, and both girls did well (even though Addie cried at drop-off). When we asked Emerson what they learned today, she said, “God will always give us what we need, but not always what we want.” I was so impressed with her for remembering that! We ran into the Publix deli to grab a hodge-podge of their hot food bars for lunch, and took it back home to eat. (Although I was regretting not getting a Pub Sub, but I’m eating so many turkey sandwiches these days, I thought I’d get something different, but should have just gotten that anyways, since I love sandwiches so much, and Pub Subs especially.)

I got to rock my sweet baby to sleep for nap time after lunch, and she was out in just a few easy minutes.

Then I took my little shopping buddy with me to Beall’s outlet, to pick out another birthday gift for Papa. On our way there, she was like, “I was thinking about what we could look for – maybe shirts, or work pants, or funny socks, because you know he has so many favorite socks.” I told her what size shirts we were looking for, and you can see her sweet little self checking out the sizes for me.

And of course we had to go sniff some candles together while we were there!

We also decided to treat ourselves to some special mommy-daughter drinks together on the way home, and she thought that was really cool.

Once Addison finally woke up from her long nap (actually, we had to wake her up), we put on our bathing suits, packed up our bags and dry clothes, and headed out to Grammy & Papa’s house for Papa’s birthday dinner celebration. These sweet girls were holding hands in the car on the way there 🙂

Jeff had to get a frog out of the pool, and all the little girls were interested, but wouldn’t get too close of course…

New bikini for the little bit!

Papa made jalapeno poppers for an appetizer, and someone brought them out to the pool for us for a swimming-snack, and they were delicious.

Grammy made sloppy joes for dinner, and everyone devoured them.

After some post-dinner playtime, we let Papa open all of his birthday gifts. In addition to a great Columbia fishing shirt we found today, we also got him these awesome Tallahassee socks that we found at the farmer’s market yesterday.

After dessert, we got all the little girls into their jammies, so we could head on home to start bedtime for everyone. We went through Emerson’s normal routine, and then she wanted some cuddle time with Daddy. That worked out well, so that I got to rock Addison to sleep for the second time today, to get all the loves and cuddles from baby sister.

We had a super late night Walmart grocery pickup tonight, after 9pm, so once we got the girls to sleep, I ran out really quick to go get it. I got the cold stuff put away, and then wrote this post. Now I’m going to go wash all of Addie’s sippy cups for tomorrow, and maybe half-pack Emmie’s lunch for tomorrow, to get things started…
