Emerson wanted an egg & cheese biscuit for breakfast today. And since we were actually pretty low on breakfast food items, we readily agreed and ran through the McD’s drive-thru for biscuits and hash browns. (Sadly, the iced coffee was really weird and gross today, so I only had like, two sips before dumping it out.)
And even though she had her own biscuit, she needed to share quite a few bites of mine, of course.
And shortly after breakfast, Emerson went pee in the potty!! And so she got to open up the second present that Aunt Doll Baby had sent her. She was of course thrilled to find out that it was a colorful dinosaur lamp for her room!
We did all sorts of playing around the house this morning – baking wooden cookies, stickers, taking out every single toy from the toy drawer,
She tried to help Moana do some potty-training…
She also helped me start a load of h er laundry, and then refill both of the bird feeders. While we were outside at the second one, she was like, “Why I have on panties?” So I said,” Because you’re learning to potty on the toilet like a big girl.” And she was like, “Ok, well I have to go potty.”
So we marched right down the hallway, she sat on her pink potty, and immediately went potty! We’ve been doing one sticker for every time she pees, on this little chart that Grammy got her.
She cuddled with Pretzel, patting him on the back, saying she was putting him to sleep, because that’s how Miss Jessica always put her to sleep at school.
She had lunch at the coffee table while I watched church online on the TV. Then as we walked down the hall to get ready for nap time, I asked if she needed to go pee again, and she said, “Nope, but I need to poopy!” And she went poop in the potty!!!
We read her nap time book by flash light, so we could leave the big lamp off, and the dinosaur light on instead, which really felt super cool honestly.
While Emerson napped, Jeff and I had lunch, and tag-teamed some chores together: he picked up groceries, I cleaned up the living room & wrote half of the blog, and he did some more laundry. Then once Emerson woke up, we packed up to head to Grammy & Papa’s house for a pool party for Papa’s birthday celebration! We stopped at the gas station for some drinks, and Jeff picked out this delicious coffee for me, since the iced coffee this morning was so terrible. But THIS was absolutely delicious.
As a prize for finally going potty, Grammy had a few small gifts for Emmie, like a small lighthouse figurine (they are obsessed with lighthouses), this poncho pool towel, and a huge lollipop.
This was the only halfway decent photo I got of her in her fancy dress, but good grief it was so super adorable!!
And then we had so much fun in the pool! The triplets are halfway through the ISR (Infant Swim & Rescue) class, and watching them swim is honestly so incredible!
Riley in particular is a little fish, and could just swim back and forth forever. And look at how amazing these underwater portrait shots came out, from my phone!
At dinner time, the triplets were set up in their seats on the counter top, and Emerson wedged her way right into the middle of things, and joined the line-up to be fed like four little baby girl birds! We had sloppy joes, and everyone’s favorite “gooey potatoes” (I can’t really explain what they are, but they’re absolutely delicious), followed by cheesecake with guava sauce for dessert.
Feeding the deer with Grammy…
Then watching “Jesus Loves Me” videos with Papa.
Emerson loved playing dress-up with the triplets while I was in the shower after swimming, but then after dinner & dessert she put this dress back on, and did NOT want to take it off. Grammy told her she could take it home, if she pinky-promised to bring it back next time we came over. So this is Emmie making her very first pinky-promise 🙂
Oh, so Megan and I have a very similar style of clothing and dress, but tonight we took it another step and showed up both wearing white fingernail & toenail polish. I think we’re pretty cute 🙂
Two doors down from Grammy’s house on our way home, we saw a deer about 20 feet away, so I very quietly unbuckled Emerson & pulled her over into my lap, rolled the window down, and we stared at the deer for a while. It was so cool!
We did a video call with Aunt Suzanne & Uncle Keith on our drive home, and Emerson sang “Happy Birthday” to Aunt Q, since her birthday is tomorrow. Then we talked to them for a while, and Emmie told them about all sorts of things. As we got near home, she announced she needed to go poop. So we quickly told them goodbye, and started preparing to exit the vehicle as quickly as possible.
I carried her inside and ran down the hall, and as soon as I plopped her on the potty, I heard something plop in the toilet! 🙂 So that means my girl peed seven times, and pooped twice, all in the toilet today!!! You guys, I could NOT be happier about how this all went today. I am so super stinking proud of her, and how well she did with everything today. So for all of y’all that have been praying for our potty situation, we thank you for that, it finally worked!
These last three days at home spent almost full-time with my baby girl and my hubby were so great. (Exhausting, honestly, but still super great.) I’m going to light one of my new candles, snuggle up on the couch with my blanket and hubby, and we’re going to finish watching “Thor,” which we started last night.
