There are Christmas-themed dress-up days every day at school this week. Yesterday was “wear Christmas socks,” but she doesn’t have any, so we skipped it. I did get her these adorable Rudolph jammies at Walmart the other day specifically for this week, though, since she loves jammies and they were only $7, and she’ll still be able to wear them for the next year, since she’s so tiny 😉
Personally, I’m super jealous that I couldn’t have a pajama day at work today too! Cozy pants & a t-shirt sounds like a great idea for a day of office-sitting!
For lunch today, my sister came & picked me up at my office (she works just a a couple of blocks away), and we met up with our dad for pizza at Blaze.
The skies opened up and it started flooding while we were eating, and we didn’t have umbrellas, so we got soaked getting back to our cars, and then I got soaked again when Megan dropped me back off at my building. I hate the feeling of being like, “half-wet,” so I felt so gross for a few hours this afternoon, until everything dried back out again. And it took even longer to dry off, because our office was warm & humid and disgusting too. It was literally 80% humidity inside our office today. So gross.
Can’t wait to see what this art turns out to be – looks like a gross green smudge right now! 🙂
Today, she got to bring home this cute little tree she made yesterday. And then on the way out, she got confused and thought it was a hat, and was showing Ms. Brenda at the front desk her new hat! Haha
So I was just a few minutes late leaving work, and then I got stuck sitting still in some traffic on the way to school, and then by the time we left there, we were 15 minutes later than usual. Jeff had to go help a coworker with some cable stuff, so Emmie and I decided to grab Chick-fil-A on our way home.
I used the app to order our meals (using rewards points to get my nuggets free), while sitting at the red light near the restaurant. Then when we went inside to sit down, I input our table number, and they brought it right out! I’m pretty sure this was the first time just the two of us had eaten out by ourselves, and it went perfectly! She ate 3.5 nuggets, plus a good amount of fries, and she was just super sweet and very well-behaved the whole time. (Despite her nosy-ness & staring at the table behind us.)
We did our advent calendars once we got home, and had lots of fun reading Christmas books and playing with Pretzel.
Oh, and she also helped me feed Pretzel. And look at this drama I captured. She’s so funny!
She randomly thought about Sheppy tonight, and wanted to go look for him in his new spot. But to be honest, with the chaos of the past weekend, we hadn’t hid or found him since like, last Thursday, and I didn’t even know where he was! But she found him up on the bookshelf all on her own, and was so excited to find him! I’ll have to get back into our routine again tomorrow.
Oh and once all the books were out of her bucket, she wanted to try to sit in it. I told her she might not fit, but of course her teeny tiny booty fit in it just fine!
I was sitting in the floor, holding her upside down, and Pretzel came and was sniffing all over her, and I was playing around asking, “does she smell like chicken, Pretzel?” And he kept sniffing her and kissing her, and she thought it was the funniest thing. She kept coming back to me and flinging herself at me so I would hold her upside down, saying, “Pretzel sniff me again!”
This was her showing her baby the Mickey Mouse ornament.
Oh, and since I couldn’t wear jammies to work today, I immediately put them on once we got home, complete with mis-matched penguin fuzzy socks!
Jeff got home right before bedtime, and Emmie was very glad to see him. We watched one night-night video on my phone in her room, and then it was time for prayers. We asked her if she wanted to hold mommy for prayers, and she no. We asked if she wanted to hold Daddy for prayers, and she said no. Jeff asked her if she wanted to hold my penguins for prayers, and she said YES! So that’s what she did! 🙂 She’s such a goof.
She was easy to get down tonight, and then I headed to write this blog post, and Jeff made us both a cup of hot tea. I’m actually not feeling so great all of a sudden tonight, so it’ll be hot tea and an early bedtime for me. Hoping it’s nothing more than a little cold, or some sinus issues from this crazy weather, and that I’ll feel much better soon!
