Deacon’s Christmas Dinner

Look at how precious and angelic she looks with this little pose! I can’t handle her cuteness!

And now look at how full her cheek is with that muffin studded in her mouth!

I had a sandwich for lunch at work (three days strong on the lunch sandwiches), and watched Netflix on my phone. I still haven’t felt much like reading lately, so thank goodness for an unlimited data plan on my cell phone!

When I got to school, Emmie had been playing hard out on the playground. (You can see how crazy her hair was in the photos.) She made a reindeer hat at school today, and wanted to show me before we left.

We went straight home, and Grandmommie was there waitng on us at the house, to babysit Emmie for us tonight. We had a little bit of time before needing to leave, so we ended up working on all three advent calendars – ornament, chocolate & coloring.

(It was really sweet – she wanted to touch me the whole time we were coloring.)

And then Jeff and I went back out to the church tonight, for the deacons Christmas dinner. It was decorated so nice, with candles and low-lighting, and we had delicious lasagna (made by my parents & aunt and uncle), with garlic bread, and cupcakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Also, figured I’d bust out the bright red lipstick again, because if you don’t wear it at Christmas time, when else can you wear it?!

We had yummy food, good conversations with our table-mates, and we all sang Christmas carols together, before heading testimony from two local bi-vocational pastors.

The following two photos were snatched from my Uncle Keith’s Facebook page 😉

The deacons in our church serve on a three-year rotation. In January, Jeff will “roll off” for a year. I was blessed to be there with him in January 2016 when he was ordained as a deacon in our church, and have watched him serve faithfully these past three years. I’m so proud of him for all he does for our little family, our church family, and our faith family.

And perks of having connections to the folks in the kitchen – we got to bring home an entire box full of leftovers! I portioned out the pan of lasagna, so we can have it for lunches (and so it would fit in the fridge better), and I’m so glad we get to eat it again, because it was sooo good!

Grandmommie and Emmie ate dinner together, and played for a while, and then she got her down for bedtime right around 8pm, which was just perfect. We got home around 9:30, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing! Once again, I realize just how blessed we are, to have so many wonderful, loving family members here in town!
