Painting Pumpkins

I made some copy-cat Dunkin wake-up wraps for breakfast this morning, with eggs & sharp white cheddar cheese. I realized as I took my last bite that I actually had bacon in the fridge that I had totally forgotten about, sadly… but they were still very yummy.

The weather was so nice this morning, we had the windows open while we worked on our chores. The girls set up a little craft station on a box in the dining room next to the open windows. And like the baby bunnies that they are (they also love raw baby carrots & lettuce), they sat there snacking on a giant tub of sunflower seeds.

While Emerson spent a few days earlier this week with Grandmommie, she was really worried about me since I wasn’t feeling well. So when they went to Publix together, Emmie picked out these cute little flowers to get me as a pick-me-up surprise, which was so sweet of her.

After we finished cleaning up the living room, I had started to clean up the dining room and put away all the fake pumpkins. I was about to throw away these little white ones which are real, but I decided to let them paint them first for a fun, easy morning activity.

One little girl made more of a mess than anything, but she was proud of her pumpkin and they both had fun, so that’s good enough for me! (And we’ll still chuck them into the trash in a couple of days 😉 )

We had lunch after the pumpkin painting, and then I got Addison down for her nap. Emerson let me have about 14 whole minutes of rest time, and then she was asking me what’s next… So I got her to help me wash the dishes! And honestly, she’s actually a really good helper with that. I got the whole counter cleaned up too, which was a mountain of clutter and mess too embarrassing to show you the “before” photo. But it looks great now!

We headed over to Nana & PopPop’s house for a little playtime and dinner tonight, and helped Nana prep a few dishes she’s taking to Thanksgiving to visit family in Georgia tomorrow.

I did quite a bit around the house today, and that kinda wore me out, but I think I’m finally back to feeling my normal self tonight, after 4.5 days of feeling crappy. Which is perfect, since it’s just in time for Thanksgiving and a good day with the family tomorrow!
