Painting a Planet

Addie Pie was such a goofball at school this morning, posing funny and playing with her little ears. She’s the cutest! And she did very well at drop-off.

Emmie had a rough morning (had to be woken up at 7am and was still very tired and groggy and grumpy) and didn’t want to take pictures for Daddy, but she still made it off to school.

Remember that turkey lettuce wrap screenshot I shared last week? I did end up getting all the ingredients to make it for my lunches this week. It was a lot of greens, and very messy, but it was also very yummy.

We got quite a few photos of Addie from her teachers at school today, and the one of her being swallowed by her little art smock (second below) made me laugh out loud!

It had been quite a while since I last made the “egg roll in a bowl” recipe, so I did that again tonight (using ground chicken this time instead of sausage), and it was super good.

After dinner, I washed up a sink full of dishes, and Jeff got the girls set up for some craft time at the table. Addie just did some drawing with crayons, but Emmie got started on painting this styrofoam ball a few shades of blue, for her Neptune planet project. She was so very serious about it, but also so sweet and precious, and I loved watching her work.

We did a little work on the planet for about 30 minutes tonight, and we’ll work on it a little more each night through the week, until we have to turn it in on Friday. I’m so proud of her already though!

We changed into jammies and got bedtime snacks and watched “Bluey,” and Addie bounced around on the couch with me, smiling and giggling and being adorable.

Then both girls went to sleep easily, and Jeff actually went to bed early tonight, not long after both girls were asleep. Since I mostly watched “Survivor” all of last year, I’m way behind on the newest seasons of some of my shows. So this past weekend, I started watching the final season of “This Is Us,” and since Jeff is asleep, I’m going to go settle in and watch another episode before going to bed.
