Opening Ceremonies

Both of my blue-eyed girlies were wearing blue t-shirts to school today, and looking so cute!

Addison was double-unicorned with her unicorn shirt and unicorn rain jacket, which happened to also be blue.

And Emerson even found her blue-checkered jacket to coordinate with the blue theme. And Daddy was also wearing blue to match!

Tomorrow is field day at Gilchrist, and today they had their little opening ceremonies. Each class represented a different country, and Emerson’s class was Sweden! So they were supposed to wear either blue or yellow, so that’s what started the blue theme in our family today. And it looks like they had a fun day! (Wishing I would have planned ahead enough to make Swedish meatballs at home for our dinner. Totally missed out on that fun!)

Meggie got to daycare for Hayden just a few minutes before me, so she also grabbed Addison while she was in there, and I found her in their van helping get the baby buckled up in his car seat.

And although I didn’t make Swedish meatballs tonight, I had already put teriyaki chicken stuff in the crockpot first thing this morning, so we still had an easy and delicious dinner tonight. And I love the nights where I can make up a bowl of leftovers to save for lunch tomorrow, at the same time I make our dinner bowls.

And Addison killed a whole ton of broccoli again tonight. She ate all of hers, and then took Jeff’s out of his bowl too, and even ate a few bites of Emmie’s too. The girl is definitely a big fan of broccoli!

We’ve been listening to that new Johnnyswim record every night for the past couple of weeks, but Emerson wanted to pick something new tonight, and she went with 1989 Taylor’s Version, so that was fun.

We watched an episode of Celebrity Jeopardy on Hulu after dinner, while the girls ran wild and ate some ice cream, and then they eventually “watched” the show with us. I love regular Jeopardy, but the celebrity version is slightly easier, and makes me feel infinitely smarter, because I’m honestly so good at it 🤣

Bedtime went smooth and easy tonight after an episode of Bluey, and both sweet girls fell asleep quickly.
