One Day of Maternity Leave

Two cute little girlies today, unintentionally coordinated with the colors of their outfits. I absolutely loved this dress on Emmie when she wore it at three years old. And I absolutely love it on Addie now too!

I dropped off both girls at their respective schools, and then headed out to Meg’s house, to spend one day of maternity leave with her and Baby Hayden! I had wanted to do this when he was tinier, but work stuff made that difficult until now. But I was so glad I got it worked out today, since she only has a few weeks left before returning to work. She was just laying him down for his first morning nap when I got there, and he was so cute and sleepy.

He woke up a while later and we changed his diaper and outfit and I fed him a bottle, and then he fell back to sleep cuddling with Aunt Hay-Hay. And I might have snuggled down into the couch and drifted off to sleep myself.

Eventually, we went out to lunch with Grammy for some delicious sushi, hibachi, and appetizers at Kiku. We just kinda pushed everything to the center of the table, and shared all of it (there was one other app off to the side not pictured), and it was all so delicious.

Then we did a little shopping (but didn’t buy anything) at TJ Maxx, and ran into Trader Joe’s for chicken for their dinner, and I also picked up a couple of random things too.

And we obviously had to order ourselves a little treat at the end of our errands, before heading back to her house.

Hayden stayed asleep for a bit when we got home, and then he woke up and snuggled back to sleep with Mommy, where she also nodded off a bit too…

He eventually woke up all the way, so we got him changed again and fed him another bottle, and then I helped out with his bath and picked out some clean jammies, before I finally headed out for the afternoon.

Got this picture from Emmie’s teacher today, of her and this cute little spooky house they all got to make in class.

I picked up Emerson a little earlier than usual from school, so we made a quick trip to Kids Pointe, hoping to find some “new” shoes, because both girls need sandals & boots, and Emmie needs new tennis shoes again already, even though we just got her some before school started. We did find them both a pair of sandals for nicer dresses and church on Sunday’s, and also a new fuzzy coat for both of them. But first, she found and fell in love with these cowgirl boots, and begged for them. They were a couple of sizes too big though, so we passed, but they were pretty cute.

First thing this morning, Jeff dropped this rosemary seasoned pork roast from Aldi into the crock-pot. It smelled amazing when we got home, and it came out soooo tender and delicious. I just made a quick side of rice and lima beans to go with it, and then we sat down for dinner pretty quickly.

Jeff washed up some dishes for me while I got the girls’ bath time taken care of. We pulled out fresh jammies for both girls, Emmie put on her new pull-over, Addie slapped some stickers on her forehead, and they each had a poptart for their pre-bedtime snack.

Emerson was sleepy and easy to get down for bedtime. Addison was also sleepy, but in a grumpy way, and was a little bit more difficult, but she did finally give in. I had such a great day today, and I was so glad I got to spend a whole day with my sister and my nephew!
