Tried a new “recipe” for bagels this morning. It’s really just a different technique, not a “recipe,” for making egg-in-the-hole, but with bagels, topped with bacon bits & cheese, and baked in the oven.
My friend Tamara sent me the TikTok video because she knew I love egg-in-the-hole, and knew this was up my alley. Her and I both love runny eggs, but unfortunately the eggs ended up way more done than I would have preferred. It was still delicious though, and I definitely want to try it again, but I’ll take it out earlier next time.
We had about an hour of just lazy play time, hanging out and drinking coffee and watching shows with the girls.
Then everyone was energized and ready to start dancing around and doing things. So Jeff and I started working on some more projects around the house, like hanging some pictures and art and decor down our very long hallway.
Addie had some chicken nuggets for lunch, and Emerson had a breakfast sandwich, and then both of them took nice long naps.
Jeff and I ate lunch and took turns getting showered and dressed, and then once the girls woke up, we got them dressed too. With our normal routine being off this week, I forgot to put in a Walmart grocery pick-up order, so made a family trip to Aldi instead. And of course we ended up spending way more than we needed to, and way more than if I would have remembered to submit our order… But it was a fun family trip together anyways, and they were super cute riding in the double buggy together 🙂
We very quickly dropped off all our groceries, and put away the cold stuff, and then headed over to Nana and PopPop’s house to hang out with them, and eat dinner there too.
We love having the Costco take-&-bake meals, specifically the meatloaf & mashed potatoes, and the stuffed peppers, and adding some veggies. Both things are really good, but the meatloaf & taters are my fave.
Emmie asked Nana if they could make cookies together, and of course she had everything on hand to make her infamous no-bake cookies.
Although Addison fell asleep in the car on the ride home, neither girl was really ready to go to bed once we got home, even though it was after their usual bedtime. So we let them watch Bluey, and have snack and a drink, before we finally forced them to a very late bedtime.
My throat is feeling a little scratchy, and I’m actually on the praise team tomorrow, so Jeff just made me some hot mint tea, and I’m going to make sure I don’t stay up too late, and hopefully I’ll be feeling alright in the morning.
