I was very bless on this Mother’s Day, to be allowed to sleep in until 8:45am! Jeff got up with Emerson at 7am, and they went out to get breakfast, so when I woke up, there was an iced coffee in the fridge and donuts on the counter. So great!
Emerson was very particular about which ones were for her – i.e. the pink ones.
I gave Emerson a little pedicure this morning while listening to Sunday school – she picked out the blue color and the glitter all by herself.
She lined up all of these little guys, talked about it for a few minutes, and then picked up the phone and called Grammy.
After church, Emerson and I hung out in the tent a little more (even though it was getting pretty stinking hot out there already), before Jeff ran out to pick up lunch, so that I didn’t have to cook or clean for Mother’s Day.
I wanted to get take-out from Tan’s Asian Cafe, which is our favorite place for Chinese take-out, but when I placed the order at 11:45, but was told it wouldn’t be ready until 12:45, and that was just too long to wait when Emerson usually goes down for her nap around noon. So we decided to just go for Panda Express instead, and it was actually pretty good.
And STILL no pee in the potty all day today…..
It was super easy to get Emerson down for her nap today, and then Jeff and I watched “Splash” while she napped. I also painted my own toenails and fingernails, and made a big old oopsie. My hands slipped and I got orange nail polish on our 4-month-old couch. I was so mad at myself. We tried using polish remover, but it didn’t make a difference. Anyone have any tips???
After Emmie woke up from her nap, we went out to Grammy & Papa’s house for a family Mother’s Day dinner. It was the first time in a looooong time the whole family was together, and it was so very nice!
Emerson wanted to go home with Aunt Meggie and Uncle Bo, so she just climbed up in the car with them! We did eventually get her out before they left, but she was sad about it. When it was our turn to leave, and she was giving hugs to the rest of the family, she kept telling everyone, “I not going home yet, I still not going home yet.” She just loves her people so much!
Jeff, Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Keith were also there tonight, but they somehow didn’t end up in any of the photos, and I’m very sorry for that! Even still, it was really great to be with the family, and we had a great time!
