Wearing a new outfit this morning, announcing that she’s Mom’s Bestie! And she truly is my little tiny best friend! (She was talking about/looking at, another random parent in the parking lot, that she didn’t know…) And I love her skinny jeans & flip-flops!
I had leftover ravioli for lunch, and read my same library book. No photo of that…
Emerson seemed to have a good day at school today!
And now for a few random things…Two years ago, she was just a teeny, 10-week-old little squish!
Six years ago (wow, that seems crazy), this was Jeff and I at the Gentlemen of the Road musical fest in St. Augustine, hosted by Mumford & Sons. And this was truly some of the best live music I’ve ever heard. (We were also at our most healthy, three-weeks-before-the-wedding-weight, and skinny little children practically!)
The triplets had some 6-month photos done, and just look at these lovable chunks! (In order below: Kensley, Riley, Ellie.)
In other random news, my parents closed on a new house today! It all happened really fast these last couple of weeks, and they were keeping it a secret until everything was finalized today, but it’s official! It has a beautiful pool, and we’ve already got the first family pool party scheduled for this Saturday!
I finished this audio book this morning, and although the resolution to the spooky mystery ended up being more “normal” and mundane, it was still very thrilling and suspenseful throughout, which meant I still really enjoyed it. (On two different nights, it gave me the chills listening to it washing dishes in my mostly-dark house.)
So on my way to pick up Emerson, I started my next library audio book, which also happens to be a suspense/thriller situation, so we’ll see how this one goes!
Look at me and my tiny, cutie bestie!
Jeff was helping his work friend fix his washing machine (or dryer?) tonight, so it was just Emmie and I for dinner again tonight. I made a slightly altered repeat of Lacey’s Pizza for me (and saved Jeff a few slices), and Emmie had some leftover pasta. Tonight, I didn’t have any mushrooms (the ones I used Sunday were already at the end of their fridge life), but I did remember the sun-dried tomatoes this time! And wow! Still so good! Can’t wait to have more for lunch tomorrow.
We actually had a rough time tonight, because she was mad about something (it started because she didn’t like any of the snack options I was offering her, which was practically anything and everything in the house), and then I kept going from there, and she wouldn’t let me put her down. So I did most of the dinner stuff one-handed, with her on my left hip, crying almost the whole time. (I finally convinced her to sit on the counter, by letting her try and then eat a few pepperoni’s.) But by the time she finished eating, she had finally calmed down, and was doing OK. It was frustrating for both of us, but we made it through!
We hung out for a few minutes on the couch after dinner (I think she just needed some extra snuggles and attention from Mommy), and then we got Emerson in the bath. Jeff got home right about the time we finished up, so he got to join us for the bedtime routine, which was good.
After a quick snack and some more ice water, she was ready for bed. We did one mermaid book, twice, and then she said she was done with books for tonight! So sh gave Daddy night-night hugs, and I held her while I sang her lullabies. And then she was super easy to lay down. Praise! šš¼
Dishes and kitchen are all cleaned up now, and once Jeff gets out of the shower, I think we’re gonna watch a movie. I’m tired though (my back started randomly hurting at work today, and toting a toddler around for so long tonight didn’t help), so my guess is, I’ll fall asleep halfway through…
