Since Emerson has been loving her hair clips so much lately, I got her a new pack at Walmart yesterday – 6 for only $2! And they’re adorable, and so is she!
And this little Tater Tot was just being as nosy as ever.
And then she went bee-boppin’ down the hall with her chocolate chip muffin.
And my car was loaded down with all the things today. In the front seat I had my purse, make up, lunch, Emmie’s school bag, Megan’s present, and cheese & sour cream & fritos for dinner.
In the back seat I had a bicycle & helmet, a baby doll, two puffy jackets and two bags of clothes for our Angel Tree kids my office adopted for the holidays.
Even though this was pretty simple, it was such a good lunch! I made Jeff and I both ham sandwiches from the leftover Thanksgiving ham, plus the cheese stick & carrots with dip were delish. And this popcorn is one of my all-time favorite snacks. And I found an OJ in my work fridge that was a nice treat.
After work, I finally got all the goodies unloaded at daycare. I was so proud of and impressed by my co-workers, for donating cash to buy the large gifts, and everyone bringing in clothing items. We were able to get both girls the gifts they requested, plus winter coats, jammies, dresses, multiple outfits, shoes, socks & undies, plus a few other small toy items. Thank you, work friends, for helping do this for two local girls!
After dropping off all the things, and picking up my sweet Emmie, we headed over to Aunt Meggie’s house! Today was her 29th birthday (she said she felt old, and closer to 30 than ever), so we had a big family dinner chili night to celebrate! On the way to the house, Emmie kept singing, “Happy birthday to Meggie! Yay!” (Left to right below: Kensley, Ellie, Riley.)
Emmie doesn’t so much like chili, so I made her a ham & cheese sandwich on a hamburger bun, and she went to town on that bad boy!
Aunt Halie & Ellie Grace!
Papa & Kensley.
Uncle Keith, Riley & Aunt Suzanne.
I think Emmie was feeling a little jealous of cousin Ellie getting all of Mommy’s snuggles, so she had to come over and sit with us too.
They have started letting the babies try random bits of people food, so tonight, they all got to try some beans from the chili. They all mostly liked them, but Kensley especially loved it. They also got to try some banana cream pie, and that they really loved!
And then it was time for jammies and bottles and bedtime, for these super sleepy baby girls! (Aunt Halie was feeding Riley.)
And once again, I think Emmie got a little jealous, so she came over to be near Mommy, but was also really sweet to Riley, giving her hugs and talking to her and making her laugh.
Aunt Suzanne made two kinds of delicious brownies – gluten free for Meg, and caramel ones for the rest of us. Aunt Suzanne claims they were “regular” candles, but it took Megan literally seven tries to blow them all out! Haha 🙂
We took all four baby girls outside to look at the lights, and they all loved it. Emerson especially loved the blow-up “poder bear” (polar bear), and Riley loved the lights so much! Bo held her up super high for a closer look, and she grabbed hold of them. There was a small moment of panic where she wouldn’t let them go, and Bo was worried they would all rip off, but Riley just looked so dang proud of herself!
We had to leave soon afterwards to get Emmie home for a decent bedtime. But she was really super sweet when we got home. We got her jammies & slippers on, and then got her to take her Zarbee’s cough meds. When I ask her “will you be a big girl and take your meds for Mommy?” she says no. But if I ask if she’ll be a big girl and take her meds for Grammy (even though she’s obviously no where around), she’s always like, YEAH!
And then she went on a short (super easy), search for Sheppy. She decided to leave him on the couch, all warm & cuddled up in Mommy’s robe.
We chatted for a few minutes after books and prayers, and she told me William & Andrew were back at school today. I asked if she gave them a hug, but she said no. I asked if she said hey, but she said no. I asked if she at least played with them, and she finally said yet. She went down easily for bedtime after that, and Mommy was so very grateful for that, after many nights in a row of shenanigans and hoopla at bedtime.
And now I’m off to make some raspberry hot tea, and snuggle up for some tv time.
