Leotard, Cousins, & Grilling

My girls were so sweet and happy this morning, cuddling with each other, cozied up on the couch.

Emerson and I left Daddy and Addison at home, and her and I went to run errands. I had a Walmart grocery pickup order as usual, but we also went inside for a few things, and specifically to buy her a leotard, for her ballet classes at school!

And of course she HAD to try it on as soon as we got back home! We also got tights, which she also tried out too, and did a few of her ballet moves to test everything out.

Can’t wait to see how much she learns and grows in ballet this year!

We had skipped breakfast to go to the store, but we found this chocolate donuts there, which were great for a mid-morning snack.

We kind of lazed around the house for an hour or so, cuddling and watching tv and dong just a few light chores. Later, I made Emmie a turkey sandwich and she had gogurt with it, then she went down for her nap. I had been craving honey garlic pepper wings from A-Town, so we ordered online and Jeff picked it up, and we had a  big splurge meal for lunch today and it was absolutely delicious.

Emmie napped for less than an hour, but once she woke up, she played on her Kindle quietly for a while, and I fell asleep on the couch next to Addie sleeping in her Boppy. Then Emmie wanted to make some pictures for her cousins, herself, her sister, and a friend at church. So she had construction paper and markers and stickers, and just went to town for a while!

I fed Addie again, and Jeff took a shower, and then we went over to Megan and Bo’s house for a little last-minute family dinner. It had been a while since we were all together (especially since Addie was quarantined for a while), and we were dying to all be together again.

It was storming, thundering and lightning and pouring rain so hard, after bath time, so we ended up staying a little later than we planned, until it slowed down a bit. We helped get the triplets down for bed, and then we loaded up to head home too. Emmie of course needed one more snack for bedtime, and we read a short book, and then she was out like a light! She was exhausted after a short nap, and then playing hard with her cousins for a few hours, so bedtime was super easy.

Jeff was holding Addison while I did Emerson’s bedtime, but she was kinda fussy. I realized she just wanted a little snack, so I fixed her a small bottle, and then she fell asleep instantly once she finished it. It was easy to lay her down and swaddle her then too, because she was exhausted after watching her cousins and sister play for a few hours! (She was awake almost the whole time we were there, except for a short nap.)

We did some tidying around the house earlier, but I’m going to finish up a few more things, then wash up all the bottles, then plop down to watch some tv and rest a little before bedtime.
