Lemon Motif

I got this little beauty headed off to school with Daddy, and I stayed home with the tiny one today. Emmie was especially precious in her lemon motif, as Grammy called it 🙂

Then Addie said she wanted some eggs and toast, so I made the same for myself too, with some Parmesan on mine.

Addie was feeling much better today, with far less sinus drainage and coughing and no fever. But she still wanted to just lay down on the couch and watch a movie with Mommy for pretty much the whole morning. And I was very willing to oblige, since I was still exhausted from our busy weekend out of town. Then by the time we got up and moving, it was time to eat again, so I heated up last nights’ leftovers, which re-heated very well.

She was silly and laughing with Pennie, and having a great time after filling her little belly.

And then in no time, she was super sleepy and ready for a nap in Mama’s bed. I laid down with her for about an hour and had a quick nap myself. Then I turned her sideways so she wouldn’t roll out, and I went to wash up a gigantic load of dishes. It took me about 30-40 minutes to get wash up everything (or as much as I had room to lay out to dry), and then I made myself an iced coffee for an afternoon treat.

Addie slept about three hours total, and was so sweet and happy when she woke up. She immediately went back to loving up on the doggie. I called her Pennie Lou a time or two, and then Addie kept repeating that over and over all day, over and over and over at the most random times too. It was actually really cute.

We played around a little together once she woke up, and then I decided to put together a chicken & rice casserole quickly for our dinner. Addie helped me scavenge the cabinets to find the condensed soup, and I decided to add in one of those Lipton mushroom & onion seasoning packs this time. I’ve never used that before in this recipe, but it was delicious and added an extra rich, savory flavor.

My little buddy wanted to help, and just sat there chatting at me the whole time, patiently waiting for me to let her do the cheese as she wanted to do.

I put on a show for her, and hopped in the shower super quickly, while this baked. It came out of the oven right as Jeff and Emmie got home, so Emmie and I ate quickly, and then headed up to church for kids choir for Emmie, and worship team for me. And it was just as good if not better than ever, especially with that extra seasoning today. I had planned to do the green beans on the side, but just decided to skip it since we only had about 10 minutes to scarf down dinner before leaving for church.

Jeff and Addie ate dinner after Emmie and I had left, and he just told me that both of them had two bowls of the casserole.

After singing, I made sure to head over to Bo’s office, to see Meggie and get some baby snuggles in. Baby Hayden was purposefully opening his eyes as wide as possible trying to stay awake and socialize, but I won out and got him to sleep before it was time for me to head out.

We stayed at church a little later than usual, and Emmie was so sleepy by the time we got home. I loved how her and Pennie were cuddling up on the couch together.

But then once I took Emerson back to her room for her bedtime routine, Addie snuggled up with Pennie and both of them fell asleep. And I love this so much too.

Glad to have Addie feeling better today, and glad to get back to our regular routine tomorrow too!

P.S. – I made all the cute recap TikTok videos today, and added them to the very bottom of that blog post here, if you want to go watch them.
