Lazy, Chill Holiday

All State offices were closed today, so that meant a Jeff and I both got the day off work. We kept Emerson home with us today too, for a nice little family holiday in the middle of the week. We had breakfast together then and just took it easy and had a lazy day. We went out running a few errands but before and after nap time, Emerson napped and I napped we had lunch, and we really just had a super chill day…

This kid loves coffee. She always wants me to save her the last sips after it’s gone cold, and she just gulps it down!

She was pretending to make a bed inside her basket of clean laundry 😁

A quick run to CVS for BOGO vitamins… Followed by a run into the tiny Target over near campus, for just some wandering around and picking up random things.

I got this little matching set of dish soap, hand soap, and a candle, that smells super good and Christmassy. I haven’t started using it yet, but I’m excited to do so in the next few weeks.

She picked out a lunchable that she wanted for her lunch today, while we were at Target, so she ate it while she watched videos on her Kindle before nap time.

Jeff and I ate some pizza for lunch while she napped, but after she woke up a little bit early, I ended up falling asleep on the couch while she watch TV for a little bit. then what she was a little bit more awake, she decided she was hungry and needed a snack. She requested “crunch crunch and a bowl with half milk and then a little bit more.”

After a little bit more just hanging out and doing nothing much at home, we went out to Ross and Bell’s outfit. We got a gift for a little girl’s birthday party for this coming weekend, and started buying a few more Christmas presents as well. I was looking for a specific type of slip-on, closed-toed shoe for Emerson for the upcoming colder weather, but we didn’t find what I was looking for so we’ll still be on the hunt.

While I put together a cheesy chicken and rice casserole for dinner, Jeff and Emerson worked on this giant princess puzzle. I spent some time washing dishes and cleaning up the kitchen after getting the casserole in the oven, and then went over to help finish up the puzzle.

The chicken and rice came out delicious, just like it does every time, and I made side salads to go with it. But then I took one by to my salad and I wasn’t feeling it. I took a second but I just to make sure, and then decided I could not eat it. During my first pregnancy, I completely lost my taste for salad, and never wanted to eat it. that happened to been the case so far, since I’ve eaten a few salads even in the past week. But tonight I just couldn’t even another bite!

And then for the first time since March, we actually had choir rehearsal tonight! We’re not coming back full time, but we are singing two songs in our outdoor Thanksgiving worship service this Sunday, so we had a socially-distanced choir rehearsal at church tonight. And it was so good to have a little taste of semi-normal.

Jeff took care of Emerson’s bath time and bed time, and by the time I got home she was already asleep. I hated not to give her another hug before bedtime, but I was also a little relieved that I got to just plop down on the couch and not have any more responsibilities for the night 😉
