Yesterday’s leftover donuts were perfect for breakfast this morning – no cooking, no clean-up, and yummy sweetness!
Before all of our online church meetings and events, we threw in a load of laundry, and this sweet little girl is always the best helper.
We also did some e-book reading 😉
And some vacuuming after church was over.
And somehow (I literally have no idea how), she pulled up GC Kids with Uncle Bo & Aunt Megan on our Google hub, and watched them for a few minutes. Honestly, IÂ legit have no idea how she did this….
Jeff was craving tacos for lunch today (and even though tacos are on the menu for this coming Tuesday), we decided to go for it. We tried to order takeout from our favorite local taco place over here on our side of town, but they were closed on Sundays. So he went through the Taco Bell drive-thru instead. (Strangely, we later saw on their Facebook an announcement saying they were now open on Sundays, so we don’t know what that was about…)
Anyways, I washed up a TON of dishes and cleaned the kitchen while Jeff and Emmie ran to Walgreens for some Sudafed (the cashier gave her a lollipop; how do we sanitize that?!) and then the Taco Bell drive-thru before heading back home.
Emerson went down for her nap after lunch time, and then Nana came over with Andie and Libby. Since we did so much work at their house yesterday, she offered to come over today to help us at our house. Libby and Andie mostly petted Pretzel and “babysat” Emerson for us, so we could get a bunch done outside. They came out every once in a while to see what we were doing, and they carried a few limbs to the trash pile, and then went back inside.
Like a bad blogger, I forgot to take any “before” photos, but let me just tell you, this is a significant upgrade. The bushes on the left had three or four small trees growing inside them, that were so tall the covered that window. Jeff sawed them down as low as possible, we ripped them out & carried them to the street. We pulled out tons of vines, and then he hedged everything to even it all up.
We also shaped up all three of these little bushes and trees, and things look so much better now than before.
We worked for almost four hours (wayyyy longer than I realized or thought it would take), but it looks so great now!
I thought we would work for a couple of hours, then get cleaned up and rest, and I would make homemade pizza. But we worked for double the time, and we were just absolutely dead after all that, so we picked up a pizza instead. And this was delicious. And no one had to cook or clean!
Oh, and look at this adorable ponytail I did today! She doesn’t often let me do her hair, but she did today, and I loved it! (She chose to wear the kitty cat ears all on her own.)
We cuddled on the couch for a while after dinner, watching videos together. She was super goofy and just being so silly, but super adorable. We read an Easter book again (she still can’t get enough of her Easter books), and then we got her calmed down.
However, she’s still in her room chatting and singing and calling for me (Jeff already went back in once and tried, but she wants me to sing one more lullaby), so it looks like I’m going back in for another song, and hopefully that’ll be good, because I’m too tired to handle all her shenanigans tonight!
