Lady & the Tramp

Emerson loved seeing her poster on the kitchen counter when she woke up this morning. She was so excited about it! And then when we got to school, I showed her how to hold it like this, and she was still so excited about it! So sweet!

Ms. Sheila took her from me when we got to the classroom, and they walked over to the little check-in spot, so Emmie could “help” her, which she likes doing. And there were no tears, and very minimal whining, and it just went so well this morning!

It’s been a while since I’ve made a library run on my lunch break, but that’s what I did today. I had one (overdue) book to return (that I finished a week ago, but kept forgetting to return), and two on hold to pick up. I listened to the audio version of “Daisy Jones” a few months ago, and really liked it. I wanted to check out the printed version, to see if there were any accompanying details (photos, lyrics, etc), that I missed out on. But I’m not going to actually re-read the book…

Then I came back to my office for leftover coconut curry chicken ramen & reading. YUM.

Two years ago, this teensy girl was only 7 weeks old! This was also one of the first times we went to church as a little family, and she was a perfect sleepy babe through the whole service!

Another good day at school, even though she did only take a short, 52-minute nap. Normally, she needs closer to 1.5-2 hours for a good nap…

The picture below was actually sent to my friend Allie, who’s daughter Maddie is in the pink next to Emmie. I didn’t get this photo in my parent app, but I’m glad Allie shared it with me! (P.S. – we have no idea what those things are or what they’re doing 😂)

I picked up Emmie after school and work, and we headed home. I made some Trader Joe’s chicken tacos for dinner, with yellow rice and black beans. This was the first time we’ve bought and tried these tacos, and they were so good! I loved the corn tortillas, and they were just so little & fun, plus delicious too. Emerson liked them too! She ate a whole taco, plus two servings of rice, and plenty of sour cream 😆

Hands folded for the blessing.

And at the end, she throws her arms open and is so excited to say “amen!”

Tonight we listened to another one of the “new” records we got over the weekend – the soundtrack the “My Fair Lady,” and I loved it! I haven’t watched the movie in so long, but now I really want to!

Playing for a little bit after dinner, she put on her new cat shoes and played with her “pack pack.”

Then she did some practice/pretend potty-sitting before bath time (still nothing happening there, but at least she’s not scared of it anymore), and then a new clean pair of jammies, with doggies!

We sat on the couch for a bit, having a snack and watching a show, and she wanted to wear her bath robe. And she was being so sweet with Pretzel!

Then she didn’t want to go to bed, and was starting to get upset. So I told her I would go find a book to read about dogs, like the dogs on her jammies. So I flipped through our stack of Little Golden Books, that I’ve collected since my childhood, and found the perfect one. Her jammies are Lady & the Tramp, and I found my old Lady & the Tramp book from when I was little! It was perfect, and she loved the story!

She was still a little difficult to get to sleep tonight, but we made it through eventually, and she’s been snoozing for a while now. I should do the dishes now, but I don’t feel like it, so I’m just gonna ignore them and procrastinate until tomorrow. For now, I’ve already lit my favorite Laurel candle, and it’s time to sit and rest.
