This precious girl was sleeping soundly this morning. Y’all know how often she wakes up early, so for us to walk into her room, turn on lights, make a little noise, and her still be asleep, that’s unheard of! But man she was so sweet!!
She wanted to help Daddy get her a little bit of milk before leaving for school.
And she was all bundled up and super cozy for school this morning, since it was literally freezing this morning, at 32 degrees at drop-off! She didn’t even want to take her jacket off when we went into her classroom.
I had my leftover Bleu cheese burger for lunch, with some of the yellow rice from last night, but I ended up saving the carrots & the homemade dip from Monday night for an tomorrow’s afternoon snack. Yum! And of course I read a few more chapters of “Little Women.” I’m up to about 70% now, and the end is in sight! I’m really enjoying it, but it’s certainly taking me a long time to read it. Granted, it’s a rather large book, at almost 500 pages. (My fancy, pretty version is actually 777 pages, since the book is compact, but super thick.)
And this burger was just as delicious today as it was last night. Even if you don’t like Bleu cheese, I think everyone should make these chicken burgers. The cheese doesn’t get mixed into the patty, just topped with it, so you could totally leave it out, or make the chicken burgers & top with literally any toppings you want. They’re just really super good chicken burger patties. For real.
Grammy picked up Emerson after school and then we met up at Newk’s for family dinner before church. I actually bumped into my friend Tamara there with her family, so we got to catch up for a few minutes as well. (Hi, Tamara!)
Everything about my “choose two” with 1/2 a Caesar salad and 1/2 an Italian sandwich was absolutely delicious today. I always love their Caesar salad (it’s my very favorite dressing), but the sammich was spot-on today!
And of course when given the choice to ride to church with Mommy, or in Grammy’s Jeep, she obviously picked Grammy’s Jeep.
When we got to church, she was just spinning and spinning and spinning, and giggling at herself so much. So cute!
This coming Sunday, we are doing a high-attendance push to encourage all of our members to attend all together. And to go with that, we invited our Singing Christmas Tree members to come back and sing our anthem with us this week. So my Mama joined us in choir tonight, to rehearse the song for the upcoming Sunday, and it was great to have her back in choir with me! And, this is one of my favorite songs we do. It’s from the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, and it’s amazing.
After church, Emerson got upset when I told her Grammy had gone home early, without Emmie getting to see her again. Then right as she was starting to meltdown, a friend of ours drove up to say hi, and they had a little doggie in the car, and she just loved that! So that helped to talked to friends and love on a little dog named Muffin. As they drove away, I told her to say, “Bye, Revell’s!” And then she kept repeating it over & over as they left the parking lot. Then she needed to run around in the grass two times before getting in the car. And she talked about “Muffin the dog” all the way home after that!
She helped pick out her clothes for tomorrow once we got home, and then we had to get ready for bed right away. She read books to a whole row of her little friends (dog, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, panda & unicorn), and then she said, “everybody gets in bed with me,” and proceeded to throw all of them into her crib.
Bedtime went well, and my sweet girl was ready to lay down in no time, and then was sweetly saying “I wuvvu, good night,” over & over as I left the room.
Then as I was writing this blog post tonight, I started getting a nose bleed. It’s been so cold & dry (and then warm in the house), that apparently my sinuses are all dried out. What’s even weirder about that, is that Jeff had a really bad one last week (that lasted like 30 minutes), and another one today that was even worse (that lasted like two hours). He actually ended up going to Urgent Care today, and they had to cauterize the inside of his nostril to stop the bleeding! They also took some blood today to run some tests on him, just to be sure. Isn’t that just crazy?! He has more weird health/medical issues than anyone I know…
And now it’s time for popcorn (I always need a snack on Wednesday nights since we eat dinner at 5pm) & starting a movie, which is yet undecided.
