Imitation Hawaiian Meal

Grandmommie met us at Growing Room this morning to pick up Emerson for the day, and we all just happened to get there at the same time as the trippies. And you know we of course loved that!

The girls always love to carry in Addison’s school bag, and luckily we were also bringing in plastic bags for them to reuse, so everyone had something to carry.

Look at this adorable little baby artist!

After school and work, Grandmommie met me back at Growing Room to bring my biggest girl back. I got there first, and Addison was very anxiously awaiting her Grandmommie and her big sissy!

I made spam, eggs, and rice with pineapple for dinner, as a bit of an imitation of a simple Hawaiian meal. I also grilled myself just one shishito pepper that a coworker gave me (well, he gave me a whole bag, but I only cooked one tonight), and it was spicier than expected, but also really good actually.

And the girls ate this up so well! Emmie practically cleaned her plate, and Addie loved the spam especially, and ate all of that first.

Jeff didn’t actually eat dinner with us, as he was outside mowing the meadow we’ve had growing in our front yard for the past few weeks, while we’ve been too busy for him to take care of it. The girls of course wanted to go out and wave at him and watch him for a while, but the mower actually scared Addison once we were out there.

The girls kinda ran wild and played together all throughout the house for about 30 minutes. And then I got them in their jammies (some slightly too-small reindeer jammies for Addie Pie), and we cuddled up to watch a few episodes of Bluey together. Once Jeff finished outside, he got showered and cleaned up, so he could love on the girls before they went to sleep.

I’m off work tomorrow for my day to keep Emerson, and we’ve already got way more plans than we can actually fit in, like the library, the thrift store, a little bit of back-to-school shopping, and rotating out some of her old clothes that are too small for her. So I doubt we’ll even be able to do half of that in just one day, but I’m looking forward to our little day together!
