My sweet, gentle little girl was very interested in the flower buds this morning. She wanted to know all about them, so we talked about it for a bit before heading inside for drop-off.
This morning was my day to go into the office for a half-day from 8-12 to drop off stuff I’ve finished and pick up a few new cases. Jeff made me an iced coffee to bring today, and it was soooo good. I slurped that thing up super fast! (It was so good, I made myself a second one when I got home later.) Also, it was actually kinda nice to be back at my desk with my three giant monitors and plenty of room to work 🙂
Oh and here’s the board where they are keeping track of how many miles we walk each day. It’s not a competition between us, just a challenge to get 44 miles during the 22 working days of June!
I had to go by Publix for a few things during my lunch break on my way home from the office, so I grabbed a rotisserie chicken and split it up for our lunch. Plus I had these sea salt & lime crisps that were BOGO, and they were so good!
Since my lunch break was a little different today, we didn’t actually get out for our walk today. I did however do my daily scripture writing, and today’s verses just seemed good for the current events of the last week or two.
“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices, God is pleased.” – Hebrews 13:16
Looks like little girl had a fun day at school, doing art & getting sweaty on the playground, even though she only took a 44-minute nap at school today…
My afternoon of work was just absolutely bananas, filled with all sorts of hoopla and craziness. But right at 5pm, I got all this stuff going in my Dutch oven, for a homemade bolognese sauce, before I headed out to pick up Emerson from school.
Emerson’s bestie twins were getting picked up at the same time, and she just could not let them go! She started for the driver’s door where their mama was getting in, and talked to her, then I picked her up to look in their window, and she just planted herself right there on the window ledge, and the all chatted and giggled, and it was too precious.
Our knock-out roses are blooming so beautifully right now, and they just looked perfect with the afternoon sunshine streaming down when we got home!
Please check out Little Miss Thing here, and all that attitude!
While my sauce simmered away, I cleared off my “desk” and turned it back into a “dining table,” because Nana & PopPop came over to have dinner with us tonight. (They’re kitchen cabinets are all cleaned out & being repainted right now, so it’s tricky for them to cook!)
To go with the homemade sauce for pasta, I made roasted green beans, with the veggies we got at the produce stand last weekend. Also, when I pulled the colander out of the cabinet, my fun green bowl fell and broke in half. Sad day 🙁
I used this recipe for my list of ingredients, but just made it in my Dutch oven rather than the Instant Pot, and let it simmer for about 90 minutes. And it turned out so good! Honestly, I don’t have anything against store-bought, jarred sauce, but making the homemade stuff occasionally is fun too!
PopPop took this photo of her, and I love it so much! Such a beautiful little baby girl, right!?
She put this bib on her face like this, and kept saying “ding dong, ding dong, ding dong!!!”
We had enough noodles left for one bowl of leftovers, and there was still so much sauce leftover that I put that little round bowl in the freezer to save for future use.
Then my sweet MIL blessed me by washing up all the dishes and cleaning my counters, and everything looked so nice!
She brought a key lime pie for dessert from Publix, and it was a delicious treat to top off our meal!
Always in need of a bedtime snack, she finished up the bag of popcorn she started last night, while I read a book and Nana sat in there with us. But look at this crazy hair, after we took her little bun down!
This yellow blanket was one of Jeff’s when he was a little boy. We use it all the time, and she loves it. But tonight, Nana wrapped Emmie up in it and rocked her like she used to rock Jeff, and it was precious.
She always has lots of things to talk about during our little girl-chat time, and I love this part of our bedtime routine.
Since there were no dishes to wash, it was an easy night for me after dinner & bedtime, and now it’s time to change clothes and settle in on the couch for snuggles & tv with my hubby!
