Hulk Smoothies

Y’all already know what’s up… another day in covid-quarantine. Today was my last day off work, then Jeff and I are switching out and he’ll take care of the girls & I’ll work for two days.

With the food last night, Grandmommie also brought Emerson a bag of “office supplies,” so she could set up her office and get some work done today. I helped her get everything set up just like a big girl, and she loved playing here, doing work and school and teacher, for a long time.

Then we made some green “Hulk” smoothies, for our morning snack. I was so proud of her for not only just trying it, but actually drinking a ton of it! She had three servings full in her tiny jar! But it did turn out really delicous!

After lunch, I was able to get both girls to go down for a nap, at the same time, in their own beds! Addison slept about 1.5 hours, and Emerson slept for about 2 hours. I was able to do dishes, and eat lunch, and put my feet up and watch an episode of “Survivor,” before they started waking up again.

These three pepperomia plants were getting very out of control, and needed to be split and repotted. So I got some new pots at Walmart recently, and this sunny, warm afternoon was the perfect time for us to work on them. We turned three plants into nine, and they’re all so pretty!

This is the “main” plant-daddy that all the others have originated from, and it was definitely the biggest. Some of the branches had gotten too tall, fallen over, and kept growing kinda curled up sideways.

Baby sister was out there with us too, just hanging out, kicking away, being the happiest little girl.

The crazy part is, all of these originally came from just this one little plant, that a sweet older neighbor lady gave me way back in 2016, when we lived in our duplex on Park Avenue downtown. I’m so proud for keeping this alive for so long, and turning it into all of this!

We came back inside in the late-afternoon, so I could make up a pot of turkey chili. I left it simmering really low on the stove for about an hour, while I held Addison for her last nap, and once Jeff logged out of work, he took Emerson out to play in the leaves.

I made sure to bring in all my plants from outside so they wouldn’t get hurt in the freezing temperatures overnight. But I’m not sure yet where to put them all! I put the original three back in their usual spots, and added a new one in the corner of the dining room. I’m actually going to gift the two smaller white pots, and I think I’ll take one of the bigger white ones to my office, but I still need to find spots for two more in the house.

But for now, they look cute on the kitchen counter, as a nice green backdrop for our bowls of chili!

We had some cuddle time and play time after dinner, and then we got moving on bedtime routines. Both girls did pretty well with bedtime, so now we just hope & pray they stay asleep!

I’ve been awake since 5am when Addie first woke up, and my exhaustion hit me hard right after dinner, while sitting on the couch. But by now, after all the other chores & stuff, I’m pretty awake again, so hopefully I’ll get to sleep soon, and sleep well tonight!
