Well, I’m getting a late start tonight, so I’m gonna go easy on the writing, and heavy on the photos, because I’m tired and ready to settle in and relax for the night…
New dress and new shoes, both from the boxes of “new” hand-me-downs. I tried to get her to wear the pink headband that actually matched her dress, but she insisted on Elsa!
I had some extra time before work this morning, and I told Jeff I was feeling a little bit “extra” (as the kids say), so I fried an egg for today’s avocado toast.
My new Dutch oven came with a tiny cookbook, so I used it tonight to make homemade tomato soup. I used my afternoon break to dice up the carrots & onions, and set out the rest of my ingredients, so it was a little bit quicker and easier after getting home from picking up Tater from school.
And y’all, I was actually really proud of myself for making this soup. I’d normally be happy popping open a can of Campbell’s, but I just got a wild hair to make it myself, and it was actually surprisingly easy, and very good!
Emmie was a little clingy tonight, so she ate dinner in Daddy’s lap, but even she loved the soup!
I’d highly recommend making it. (Let me know if you want to try, but can’t read the recipe in the photo of the book above.) But unless you & your peeps eat a TON of tomato soup, you can easily halve the recipe. All this below is leftovers. I’m freezing the larger glass bowl, and sending two of the smaller ones home with my Mom & grandmother when I see them tomorrow, because it made a HUGE batch of soup!
Her little vet costume came with a pretend thermometer, and she loves taking our temperatures. Like over & over & over again, every 5 seconds, and declaring our temperature. Mine was 36 at one point tonight, and while I don’t know if that’s in Celsius or Fahrenheit, I think I might be sick either way, haha 😉
She was dying to try the plum she found on the counter, and she really loved it.
I got my first Grove box today in a couple of months, and it was filled with all the soaps and sanitizers, and my tiny little helper was very interested in all the things. She immediately need sanitizer, and then five minutes later she needed to test out the new soap and wash her hands.
Baby girl was good at bedtime, and then I half-cleaned the kitchen. I’ll do the rest on my lunch break tomorrow, because I simply don’t feel like it tonight! Adios for now, friends!
