Grinchy Green

Today was “Grinch day” at Gilchrist for Emmie. She chose to wear her kids musical shirt again, and we found a green Growing Room shirt for Addie girl, and they were ready to go! Also, you can see Sheppy on the cart over Addie’s shoulder, where he wanted to visit our Christmas decor.

We had a little chili luncheon for our unit today, put together by myself and our supervisor Summer (she’s the main one for a few of us, and I’m the “mini manager” for a smaller group). She made the chicken chili and I brought all the toppings and other necessities. We all just ate and hang out and chatted in the conference room during our lunch hour, and had a nice time!

Cute little gifts have been left on my desk this week – the cute lighted ornament contains all the fixin’s for some loaded herbal tea, and the cute little M&M dispenser is so adorable!

As I sat in the car pick-up line at Gilchrist, I finished the last few pages of the Kindle book I’ve been working on, and got it finished. And with that, I finished my 100th book for the year, and completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge for the year! I still have a few more books to finish up before the end of the year though, so I’m not totally done yet. Also, “The Rom-Commers” by Katherine Center was so cute and adorable and I loved it.

Emerson literally carried Addison out of the school all the way from her classroom to the car, just hugging and loving each other, and Addie was smiling and cooing and so happy to be holding on to her big sister! Good grief these girls are just the cutest & sweetest ever!

I had dropped a giant, pre-seasoned pork loin with some chopped onions in the crockpot before work this morning. Then we did our usual Knorr rice and a can of Margaret Holmes seasoned lima beans, and dinner was ready in a flash. (Jeff was outside working on his car while we ate, so we just had a little girls dinner with the three of us.)

Emerson brought home this adorable little ornament of her precious button nose silhouette that she made in her special gifted class last week. Obviously we have tons of pictures of the girls, but not many from this angle, so it’s just so sweet to have this little memory for the future.

A few weeks back, when Mama, Meg, Emmie and I went to a little craft fair one Saturday afternoon, Emerson saw these little apple earrings and immediately wanted to buy them for her teacher. I was impressed she thought of that on her own, and said we could buy them and save them for a Christmas present. Then when her and I were shopping the other day, we wanted something else to go with the earrings, and Emmie remembered that her teacher likes headbands, and picked out these for her as well. I just thought she did a great job picking out these two things for her teacher!

She even wrapped the gift herself and put it in a little gift bag, and then made her a homemade Christmas card!

Addison helped me take apart my last puzzle, and get it all bagged up and put away to save and re-work again next year.

And then we had a little bit of reading time before bedtime.

Emerson was exhausted and asleep in no time. But when I came back up to the living room, I found Addison just bee-bopping around with all the energy, watching videos with Daddy. We switched gears and forced her to sleep, and now I can finally put my feet up and relax a little bit…
