I snapped a couple of photos of Emerson on my way out the door for work, while Jeff was getting her loaded up in the car to go meet Uncle Keith and Grandmommie for her to spend the day with them!
And from the looks of these photos and the stories I heard, it seems she had a great day with her Great-Uncle Keith and Great-Grandmommie today! they made egg salad together, and blonde brownies for after lunch dessert, and did all sorts of activities. And of course they played with the tiny new puppy!
Uncle Keith said nap time didn’t last very long, but Emerson said she didn’t sleep at all. not exactly sure where the truth lies in that, but I do know if she slept at all it probably wasn’t more than 10 or 15 minutes. You know the girl hates naps! After nap time though, they took a little adventure to Bass pro shop, to see the giant fish, and then went through a car wash, which Emerson loves!
I’m at them after work to get her back from them, and then her and I made a quick trip into Publix. I was just looking for some egg rolls and some sort of Asian sauce, but I also grabbed this sushi roll for Jeff and I to have as an appetizer, and it was absolutely delicious.
I made chicken fried rice tonight with egg rolls on the side, and not only was everything yummy, but all three of us cleaned our bowls!
Even after making two big bowls, and one toddler bowl, we still have enough leftovers rice and egg rolls for another couple of bowls.
We had just a few minutes of playtime at snuggles on the couch after dinner, before we started getting me ready for bed. I knew she was exhausted after her big day Uncle Keith’s house, so I made sure to get her in bed early tonight. The bedtime routine went really smoothly, and it was just barely 7:50 p.m. by the time I walked out of her room. Which was great!
I spent about 20 minutes cleaning up all the dishes and getting the kitchen as clean as possible. I hadn’t finished cleaning up everything from last night, so it felt good to get everything from the last couple of days spic and span.
I took the day off tomorrow to keep Emerson, and I’m looking forward to one more full day together to round out these last five weeks of craziness. I’m keeping her tomorrow and then she’ll go back to Uncle Keith’s house on Wednesday for one more day off. And then Thursday she’s finally going back to school for the first time and what feels like forever! She still has some activity restrictions, but will make sure all of her teachers and staff at school know about it, and she’ll be good to go. I know she misses her friends and teachers, and she’ll be glad to get back into that school routine.
And since I haven’t exactly mentioned it much on here, I just want to say huge thank you to all of my family and Jeff’s family that’s helped us to be able to keep Emmie out of school for so long. By the time she goes back Thursday, it will have been 4 weeks since her surgery, and we could not have kept her home that long without a ton of help from so many family members! So thank you, thank you!!💜
