Addie was excited to see this little “friend” outside the school today 😉
But then she was even more excited to see two of the three trippies in the hallway inside!
Leftover poppy seed chicken from last week for my lunch today, and volume ten (currently the latest, with more expected this fall) in a graphic novel series I’ve been reading this summer. I read volumes one through nine from Libby on Kindle, but the library only had volume 10 in paper copy, which is kinda fun too. (Funny story – last Sunday, I was carrying Emerson’s Bible with an ocean theme and a narwhal, and a friend joked saying it made me look like the kind of person that reads comic books, and as I was like, “Wellll yeahhh I do!”Meg was also hollering out, “SHE DOES!” It was funny, and totally true, she just didn’t even know it 🤣)
There are no more camps or anything for Emerson this week or next week, so we’ve patched together different family to take care of her until first grade starts in 10 days. Today, Grandmommie came over to our house to take care of her. (Emmie was supposed to go to their house, but since she got sick, we couldn’t risk getting Grammy sick today, before her back surgery scheduled tomorrow.) And of course they had a great day here together!
And some cute pics of Addie Pie from school today.
Jeff was working one of his side jobs tonight after work, so the girls and I just did some random stuff. I reheated last night’s Olive Garden alfredo leftovers and chicken noodle soup for the girls. And surprise! More roasted garlic mayo tomato toast for myself, plus some Olive Garden salad too. (I was going to mash up some avocado to put on with the mayo, but this one wasn’t ripe enough yet, and it wasn’t good.)
The girls both ate really well, and kept wanting more and more and more, and then switched to snack snacks and cookies afterwards too. They pretty much ate for like an hour and a half straight, from the start of dinner, all while they played after, and then right up until we settled down for bedtime. We did a quick video call with Grammy to talk with her tonight before her surgery tomorrow, and then cuddled up to watch Bluey.
I only had to rock Addison for a few minutes before she was completely asleep, and Emerson fell asleep on the couch all on her own too. I was able to carry both of them to their beds and lay them down, and the whole process only took about 15-20 minutes. And I’m really grateful for that, since I did it all by myself before Jeff got back home!
Jeff is on his way home now from his little side job. I got about halfway through my little graphic novel at lunch today, so I’m going to go finish the rest of it now, before Jeff gets home.
