Girls in Blue Dresses

When we pulled into the parking lot this morning, Emerson was already asking to see Ms. Q. I told her I didn’t see her car, and that we had beat her, but maybe we’d see her in a few minutes. As we were getting out of the car, I saw her pull in, and while we were taking photos, Emmie saw her walking up, and got so excited! She just still loves her so much!

We got a chocolate chip muffin on the way to class, but when she took a bit and had a few stray pieces hanging off her lip, she looked at me like this and grunted, because she wanted me to stuff the crumbs in her mouth for her! haha 😁

Then she wanted me to carry her into her room, but once I sat her down at the table with her muffin, she was fine, and she let me leave without incident!

Today’s lunch looks identical to yesterdays… Jeff didn’t get to come home for lunch yesterday and eat his leftover pizza, so I brought it to work today. He got to eat the leftover croissants from last night, which he said were absolutely delicious re-warmed in the toaster oven at home.

Emmie’s report said she went pee-pee in the potty again today, for the second time! Seems like we might need to get serious about this whole potty training thing pretty soon! (Thinking maybe we’ll do one of those stay-at-home-and-dont-put-on-a-diaper weekends or something?

I listened to a not-so-interesging audio book last week… Then I started a new one yesterday that I was almost instantly bored with, so I quit around 20%, deciding it just wasn’t worth it! So I started on this one after work. Hopefully it turns out better than the last few…

Grammy picked up Emerson in the Jeep today, and the family all met for dinner at Chick-fil-A before church. Since Jeff got out of training early again today, he was also able to meet us for dinner. (He usually doesn’t make it to dinner on Wednesday’s, because the rest of us all take 30-minute lunches on Wednesday’s, so we can get off at 4:30 and eat together, but Jeff still has to work until 5pm.) While waiting for our food, “Unca Keef” took Emmie into the play place for the first time, and she had a ball!

And she loved Chick-fil-A’s new “cheese noodles!” (That’s what she calls them. If you ask her if she wants mac & cheese, she’ll say, “no, want cheese noodles!”)

We walked around for a few minutes once we got to church, because we were early, and she wanted to find the rocks she loves so much. Side note -we were both wearing navy sundresses today. Hers had pink flamingos, and mine had white polka dots. But this was the only photo I got of the two of us… Since I’m always the one behind the camera, I need to be better about remembering to ask other people to take photos of me.

Choir was really good tonight, even though we were missing some our key regulars.

We got home late, but we still had to go though the whole bedtime routine. This girl is not ok with change, and we couldn’t skip any of our usual things. But once we just gave in and went with it, she was good and sweet, and she was easy to put down.

Thank goodness for no chores or dishes tonight. I’m just going to sit and read for a little while (Jeff is playing a video game), then probably watch an episode or two of FRIENDS before heading to bed.
