Frothwood Mac

We were off to a pretty good start this morning at home…

Although neither of the girls wanted the egg muffins for breakfast today (Emmie chose applesauce & Addie chose Goldfish), that meant that I could finally eat some, since there wouldn’t have been enough otherwise.

I took Emmie, and Jeff took Addie, and everyone had a good drop-off.

Then The Frother’s Daughter coffee truck was at my office building today, like all Thursday’s during the summer, so I went by and ordered the Frothwood Mac. All of their June specials are a spin off from a musical artist or band, like a summer music festival line-up. The Frothwood Mac is a macadamia nut, chocolate milano latte, with whipped cream & honey drizzle. The flavors were right up my alley, but I also love Fleetwood Mac, so that was perfect for me.

But what I was not expecting, was to drop the whole thing in my parking garage at the office, after only like half a sip! I had too many things in my hands, trying to lock my car and adjust my dress and this was tragic. Coffee splashed up my legs, and whip cream dotted a random car. I picked up my cup and carried the empty all the way up to my office trash, sad the whole five-minute walk…

So I posted my tragic story on my Instagram & Facebook stories, and their social media person actually messaged me back about an hour later. So at this point it was about 10 minutes before the truck packed up for the day, so I grabbed a friend and we ran back downstairs and explained, and they were so nice and made me a brand new replacement latte, for free! And I finally got to really taste it, and it was so delicious!

I picked up Emerson after camp and after she changed in the backseat (back in the back of the parking lot where no one else was around) we raced over to Trousdell in the pouring rain and thunder and lightning. She opened her lunch to find a snack from her unfinished lunch, and showed off the cute little doggy that Daddy drew and left in her lunch. I’d been making her lunches all week but didn’t have time today, so Jeff did, and he left this little surprise for her. He used to always do this back in kindergarten when she took her lunch more often, and she loved finding this again today for the first time in a while!

When Jeff picked up Addison from school today, it was still flooding and thundering there too, and poor little nugget was scared to go outside.

So Jeff and Addie went home, and Emmie and I were back at the gym, where I was able to get a good chunk started on another Kindle book from the library.

This morning, I had started some chicken teriyaki in the crockpot. So then when Jeff came home first, I gave him some instructions to finish everything up for dinner. They ate before we got home, so when we got home, I dished up bowls for me and Emmie, and also a container of the leftovers to take for my lunch tomorrow.

Addie was over-tired tonight, and Jeff was worn out from his ear infection, which seems to not really be getting better, even after two days of ear drops and antibiotics. So we got everyone started on bedtime and cuddles and I started reading “Little House in the Big Woods” out loud to Emerson.

As usual, I’ve got a sink full of dishes that need to be washed, so I’m going to go work on that, while listening to John Green’s newest non-fiction audio book
