Jeff and I both had the morning “off” from serving anywhere in church, so we had such a “slow” easy morning at home, and then all four of us went to church together, for the first time in forever!
All three of us girls were wearing new dresses for church today, and looking pretty adorable, if I do say so myself!
We had Taco Bell for lunch today, and I just love how Addie eats the filling out of her taco with a fork, and then rolls up the shell to eat by itself. What a little goofball!
After lunch, I got Addison down for her nap (and maybe fell asleep in the floor of her room for a little bit during the process), and Jeff and Emerson ran to the Dollar Tree. I told her we’d take her to pick out her snacks to take to school for the week, so Jeff let me have my tiny nap and they ran out. I really was only asleep for about 20-30 minutes, but when I woke up, I needed a coffee…
I made the current viral coffee on TikTok, the Teddy Graham latte, which is supposed to taste like a teddy graham. You add honey & vanilla first, then make your instant coffee (the fancy people use their Nespresso) and froth it all up, before adding the brown sugar syrup, ice & cream. I actually made homemade cinnamon brown sugar syrup late last night, & put that in the fridge. (Also got that from TikTok.) And although I don’t think it quite tasted like a tiny cookie, it was really delicious!
I drank my coffee and made this little video of harvesting oranges a couple of weeks ago.
After nap time, we got ready to head over to Nana’s house. Addie had napped in her sleepy tshirt from last night, but wanted to put on her fancy girl dress from yesterday again, and so Daddy just went with it. On her walk to the house with her hooded cheetah jacket & Squishmallow backpack, plus carrying Daddy’s empty Mountain Dew can, she was just a whole situation…
Nana had made pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beans & Caesar salad for diner, and it was ready just about the minute we walked in the door, which is always so nice!
The girls were playing so cute and sweet after dinner, and decided they were gonna play “Granny’s,” like on Bluey. So Nana got them each a little cardigan to wear, and some old walking cane’s they had stored up. And they were so cute and hilarious about it!
After some playtime, we got out the giant kitchen aid stand mixer, so we could juice up a big basket of our oranges that we brought over. All we have at home is one little hand-juicer, and it takes so much work, so we needed to borrow Nana’s big machine to help ease our task a little. We let the girls “help” us for the first part, and then we took over the rest. But we juiced 24 oranges, and got 2 pints of juice!
We also juiced three giant Meyer lemons Nana had, and she sent that juice home with us in that little Tupperware, so that I can make a big pitcher of lemonade tomorrow.
It took longer than I thought it would to get all of the oranges juiced, so it was about 8:30 when we finally headed home. So that meant that it was later than usual when we finally got both girls to sleep. But Emerson was exhausted and easy to get to bed, and although Addison tried to insist she wasn’t tired, I think she actually gave in to sleep pretty easily once Jeff took her back to her own bedroom.
One more day of “weekend” fun tomorrow!
