Free Books & 18-Month Checkup

This morning, Emerson was actually the first one dropped off at school, ready for a chilly day…

Because instead of taking Addison straight to school, I took her to the pediatricians’ office for her 18-month checkup. She is still tiny, at 19 pounds (8th percentile), and only 30″ long (15th percentile), but she’s way ahead in all her milestones and speech. She got two shots (one routine, and one for flu), but did really well with them and recovered very quickly afterwards.

Found some books on a “free” table at the office today, and chose a few I might like myself, but also that Meg would like, since she has lately decided to start reading again, and wants me to be her personal library and librarian 🙂

Brought these random things for my lunch today, and although that flavor tuna wasn’t great, that Asian salad bag was delicious, and I ate almost the entire thing.

Listening to this audio book currently, and it’s really cute and funny. Definitely making me want to re-watch “The Office” soon!

I got stuck at work late today, so Jeff headed to pick up the girls. But due to road closures downtown, it took him way longer than usual. And so by that time, I was off work and since he was cutting it close to pick up both girls before their schools closed at 6pm. So he got Emmie first, and then I rushed to get Addie. But they showed up at daycare right as I did, so all three of us went inside to get Addie Pie.  And she was so excited she could hardly stand it!

It’s been a while since we’ve had this Aldi salmon that we like so much, so we were looking forward to it tonight. I “air-roasted” the fish & veggies on the sear pan in my air-fryer oven thing, and then made the quinoa on the stove. I threw together a couple of PB&J’s for the girls, and let them both have some chips & yogurt or applesauce with it.

Emmie wanted to eat her frozen go-gurt on the couch while playing Kindle games. Addie eventually came over and climbed up with us too, carrying around half of a Pringle.

It was at this literal minute after taking the picture of Addie with her cash register, that I swiped out of my camera, and into Google news, to see that the Taylor Swift general sale for tomorrow was cancelled. And I literally freaked out. Apparently, there were 3.5 million people who signed up to be “verified fans,” and Ticketmaster then sent out 1.5 million codes for Tuesday’s presale. But then 14 million people hit the site on Tuesday, crashing it, and ultimately selling 2 million tickets, leaving very little left for tomorrow’s general sale. I’m hoping we get some more information soon about what’s going to happen next, but for now I’m feeling very sad about it.

Anyways, I helped Emerson brush her teeth and her hair and go through the bedtime routine, all while Jeff rocked Addison to sleep in the living room.

He’s now doing some work for one of his IT side jobs, so I’m going to prop my phone in the window above the sink, and watch and the first episode of this next season of “Survivor” I just started tonight. But first, I need to find some socks or slippers, because my toes are frozen right now!
