Four-Hour Nap

Cute little girls, with Addie making some weird faces because she’s such a goofball.

Since my car wasn’t completely done last night, we all piled up in Jeff’s car this morning, and Jeff drove all over dropping off all three of us girls. Emerson did GREAT at drop-off this morning, and although Addison was a little upset when we got to her class (there were tons of kids & lots of teachers, and it was just chaotic), she did good too.

Unfortunately, we got a call from daycare around 11am, telling us that Addison had a fever and we had to come pick her up. Jeff got there around noon, after she had finished her lunch and already fallen asleep for nap time, and then took her on home. She fell back asleep in the car, as always. He held and cuddled her for a bit, and then laid her down, and girlfriend napped for 4 hours this afternoon!!

Nana picked up Emerson from Gilchrist for us, and my friend Heather brought me home from work. (Thanks again, Nana & Heather!) I had planned to make spaghetti for dinner, but apparently I forgot to order the pasta sauce. So I dug around and found a few different things and ended up putting together a one-pot cheesy beef & rice taco skillet situation, which was really good.

The girls and I ate dinner while Jeff went back outside to work on finishing up my car. I also heated up some store-bought queso for myself (it was too spicy for Emmie), and we all ate really well.

Then we went outside to watch Daddy for a little bit, and Emmie and I “helped” a little, by holding a flashlight or grabbing a bolt or keeping my hand on the “S belt” while he put it back in place. (All while holding Addison on my hip of course.)

I let Addie play for a bit, while Emmie kept watching Daddy, and then eventually we started on the bedtime routines. Jeff was still outside working, so it was just me by myself, and that always takes a lot longer.

By 9:15pm though, I had finally gotten them both to in bed (Addie was asleep, but Emmie was waiting on Jeff to get cleaned up to come love her goodnight), and I spent a couple minutes getting the kitchen mostly cleaned up. Jeff is finally cleaned up and eating some dinner now, after getting my car finished up, and even trying to wash it really quickly too. He actually didn’t get the hubcaps put back on tonight, so that will be the last thing to finish up tomorrow, but it’s at least 95% done, and totally drivable now.

As such, I’m heading out to Walgreen’s now super fast, because we’re completely out of children’s Tylenol & Motrin, so I gotta go get some of that for Addison. She still had a fever tonight around 7pm, so we have to keep her home again all day tomorrow, so I took the day off. Say a prayer for us that it’s nothing more than teething, and that she gets better quickly!
