Baby Sister went back to school today, sporting a warm new jacket she got for Christmas. She was very excited to be back with her friends and to get to play on the playground!
Jeff was also at work again today, so that just left me and Emmie for a little mother-daughter day. We actually only have the one car right now (while my car just needs to have the starter repaired, which Jeff just got the part in the mail), so we dropped off Jeff and Addie, then came back home. We had some breakfast, and some morning chill time, and then got ready to run a bunch of errands.
We did a return at Walmart of a few items, the picked up Jeff for lunch. Emerson requested Chinese food, her favorite, so we went to the food court in the mall. Jeff and Emmie shared the big combo plate from the Chinese spot, but I got a Bento box from the Japanese place, and I think mine was the best.
We made a run through Goodwill to see if we found any treasures today, but only found one book for Emmie. We also dropped off a big diaper box of donations, and tote bag full of old cookbooks.
We had to go to the Champions First credit union on some business for our new car loan (we got a pretty great rate through them!), and then to Whole Foods for some Amazon returns. We did another quick stop at the tiny Goodwill bookstore at the corner on Betton & Thomasville Road, and lucked out finding this full YA series in paperback. I read this myself about 10 years ago and loved it so much, and I know I’ll love reading this again with Emerson in another year or two. (I actually didn’t know it was made into a movie, until today, so I’m gonna check that out and see if I can find it on any of the 70-eleven streaming services we have.)
After our billions of errands, we went back home and had an hour or so of quiet rest time. Emerson worked on a little painting project that was her gift from Addison, and I started a new Kindle book.
We went back to pick up Jeff at the end of his work day, and Nana picked up Addison from daycare. Nana came over to our house tonight while PopPop was doing a hospital visit out of town, and we just baked a frozen pizza for dinner for us. Plus mac & cheese for the girls. Jeff finished getting the front room cleaned up for the boys, and we got their sheets and blankets washed and freshened up the room.
Emmie was excited to get her new robe and glow-in-the-dark blanket out for bedtime, that she got from Grandmommie for Christmas.
Tomorrow is our trip with the girls to Wild Adventures, or as Addison keeps saying “Animal Ventures.” They’re super excited, and so are we! We’re gonna pack lunches in the morning, eat when we get there around noon, and then spend the whole afternoon and early evening there, and enjoy the Christmas lights and all the fun! If we make it back in time, and I’m not totally pooped, I’ll try to do a very picture-heavy blog post once we get back home.
