Flower Girls

Such beautiful, bright, summer flower girls!!

Delicious biscuits & gravy with scrambled eggs in our Sunday school class this morning – I added a few dashes of hot sauce on top too.

Daddy told Emerson that Addison was going to drive us to lunch today, and she just thought that was the funniest thing.

Lunch at El Jalisco with our friends Britteny, Steven & Elly, with donkey rides, sombrero’s, and delicious carnitas street tacos.

We went back home long enough for all of us to nap (Emerson slept in her bed, Addison slept in my arms, and I even slept while I held her in the recliner), but I think maybe Jeff stayed awake… Then we loaded up really quickly once we woke up, I made myself an iced coffee for the road, and we headed over to Grammy & Papa’s house for a low-key Memorial Day family swim & dinner. Since mom is still less than two weeks post back surgery, we kept it super simple with just hot dogs, mac & cheese, watermelon & cake, which really was a perfect summer holiday dinner anyways.

We love coffee so much in our family, we even drink it in the pool! (Actually, Meg had a migraine, and Grandmommie fixed this for her, in hopes some extra caffeine would help a little.)

All five girls in their matching Ruffle Butts bathing suits, continuing the flower girl theme!

Between the five girls, they had EIGHT hot dogs, a million servings of mac & cheese, and countless pieces of fruit. And then of course they all still had room for a piece of cake for dessert later too.

We made a quick detour on our way home to grab a few specific Trader Joe’s items I wanted for our dinners this coming week, and Emerson decided she needed to go to the bathroom again. So I ran her to the back of store, only to find out both bathrooms were out of order. So we raced next door to Grub Burger Bar to use their facilities, then raced back over to finish up our shopping trip, in hopes our abandoned buggy with our few items was still there waiting for us.

It was time to start on the bedtime routine immediately when we got home (Emerson ate carrots while I read her dino book), but it went smoothly and we had no issues, and I got extra baby cuddles rocking Addison to sleep.

So glad we have one more day off to spend together tomorrow, too!
