The summer theme at daycare is “Down on the Growing Room Farm,” and today they were supposed to come to school dressed like a farmer. We’re not really farmers, but we did all find some overalls to wear today! And I love how adorable all five girls are in their overalls!
And since Riley got to hold Addison’s hand yesterday, today was Kensley’s turn to hold her hand 🙂
Some more cute farmer girls and barn-making activities…
Sleepy baby girl after school as always. But today, we purposefully woke her up when we got home, in hopes she wouldn’t fight bedtime quite so hard tonight like she has the past few days.
So Jeff and Emmie and Addie all played together while I cooked a super simple supper. I made kielbasa sausage with peppers & onions, broccoli and mac & cheese. And it was actually really good, and all four of us cleaned our plates. I haven’t made sausage like this in forever, but I’m definitely adding it to my list of regular-rotation meals.
Jeff was helping his buddy Ed with some computer stuff remotely after dinner, so Emmie and I took a few minutes to put away some of her clean clothes, and put away some clothes that were too small, to save for Addie. Then we went to Addie’s room to play for a little while before bedtime.
Jeff wasn’t off the phone yet when it was time to start the bedtime routine, so I let Emmie play on her Kindle for a little while, so I could take care of Addie and feed her a bottle of milk. I rocked her to sleep, and then eventually laid her down just a few minutes after 8pm. (Last night, it was like 9:30, so I think my “experiment” of waking her up right when we got home from work & school worked well tonight, getting her to sleep a little earlier.)
Emmie and I read “Moana” and did all of our songs and prayers and lullabies and then had lots of loves and snuggles. But she has since found all sorts of reasons to keep herself awake for the last 45 minutes (her gums hurt, she needed water, her eyes were itchy…), so at 9:10pm, she’s still awake, and Daddy is just now taking her back to bed again. So if we can just get her to sleep, I’m going to wash some dishes, and then we’re going to try to finish season four, episode one of “Stranger Things,” which we started the other night and I fell asleep about halfway through…
