I scrambled up some eggs for the girls to share for breakfast before church, and Jeff sat with them while I got ready for church.
Emerson looked so beautiful for church this morning. She told me she wanted to wear tights and these new shoes from Nana, so I picked a dress tat would go well with it. This 4T hand-me-down dress has been in the back of her closet for a couple of years, just waiting for her to grow into it. And I loved it today, and so did Emmie.
I was one of the teachers in Emerson’s class today, and although her and one of her little friends were very wound up for half of the class, the listened to the Bible story very well while they colored. And then we got to dress them up in costumes and use props, and we acted out a special skit for Palm Sunday!
The boys actually chose Mexican for lunch today, and you know I didn’t argue with that idea! We sat out on the patio at El Jalisco, and it was the perfect weather, and a delicious lunch. I had the carnitas street tacos, and they were really super yummy.
After lunch, I came straight home with the girls (we have to drive two cars for all six of us), and Jeff and the boys went to pick up our weekly grocery order, which was ginormous this week with two teenage boys in the house. I got the girls down to sleep, and then got dinner going in the crockpot, and washed up a bunch of dishes from the weekend.
Once Addie woke up, we had some time just us two, playing in the living room, petting Pretzel, and trying her first tiny drops of Mommy’s iced coffee 😉
My sleepy girl had a quick bottle…
And then we took the girls back to Grammy and Papa’s house for some play time, while Jeff and I went to church for our special Easter choir rehearsal. And we loved being back in choir again this afternoon, back with old choir friends, singing old hymns and new praise & worship songs.
And the girls had a great time playing at Grammy & Papa’s house for a little while!
And Emerson got to “duck a Jeep” on the way back to church as well.
Not only did I get the cheesy Italian chicken in the crockpot this afternoon, but I also went ahead and cooked the noodles, then just put them in the fridge. Then when we got home, I just had to shred the chicken, heat the noodles, mix it all together, and throw together a quick Caesar salad from a bag kit. And it was so good!
Emmie and Addie both cleaned their plates, and had second helpings of noodles. And so did Gabe 😉
And there was just enough of everything left for me to pack up some leftovers in my new Tupperware’s, to take to work tomorrow in my new matching lunchbox.
Ryan played with Addison for a long time after dinner, while I cleaned up dinner, and got Emmie some ice cream for her dessert.
Emmie needed some extra cuddles with Daddy tonight, and Addie was being so sweet and lovey with me, and kept resting her face against my face, and just leaving it there for minutes on end, almost falling asleep she was so exhausted.
Addison still fought sleep though, even as tired as she was, but I won that battle in the end, and got her to sleep, and laid in her bed. Emerson is in bed now as well, and I think I’ll get the boys to help by washing up the dishes, so that I can get a break from that chore for the week 🙂
