We have had quite the full day today. Started off with two cuties in pretty little dresses for school.
It really doesn’t come across in these photos, but the sun these last couple of days has just been insane. I honestly get excited to come up the hill and around the corner to see it, because it’s beautiful. It was even bigger this morning, and I literally gasped out loud when I saw it.
And then these kinds of clouds, whatever they’re called, are always my favorite, and they always show up this time of year, and I really love them.
Every Thursday in September, you can get BOGO fall drinks in the Starbucks app. Two weeks ago, I picked up drinks for me and Meg, and delivered it to her office. Today, I ordered them in the app, and she picked it up for us, and delivered to my office! Also, I’ve gotten her to like chai tea now too, and I’m very proud of that. 🙂
Jeff picked up Emerson and took her to gymnastics today, and both gave me a good report afterwards.
After gymnastics, Jeff and Emmie picked up Addie from school. Then I met up with them after work for dinner at Takko on Market Street. We ate delicious Korean tacos and sesame fries, and then walked over to Gilchrist for open house night.
We did a little scavenger hunt around the classroom, so she could show us all the different areas and displays around the classroom.
We also wandered around (with these two cuties holding hands) to see the PE area and the music room and the art room and the library. And we ran into a few friends as well.
A few weeks back, Emerson told me there was a big sign at school with her name on it. I asked her a few questions trying to figure out more about it, and why it would have her name on it. I eventually figured out it was a quote, and I guessed it was probably Ralph Waldo Emerson. Then tonight on our way out, she was like “Oh yeah this is the Ralph Waldo Emerson sign, Mommy!”
Apparently, it’s a Gilchrist tradition to take a picture with this bear at orientation every year. We did do it last year before kindy, but then forgot this year before first grade. So we made sure to do it tonight, to save for the future.
Everyone was exhausted by the time we got home, so we got some ice cold water, and the girls got some snacks, and we sat down to chill on the couch and watch Bluey.
Emmie and I cuddled up in my bed to read a book and watch a few of our DIY/craft TikTok girls we like. I also got Emmie this new multi-colored pen as a little surprise, and she was so cute and excited over just little $1 pen. She was coloring and scribbling in her little notebook the whole time we were watching tv. She also traced hers and Addie’s hands, colored the nails, and decorated the “background.”
Today was a good, but busy day, and I’m tired and ready to chill now!
