Finger Food

I had the happiest little girlies this morning, just smiley and sweet and giggly! Emmie was wearing her leotard and tights under her dress, excited for ballet this morning.

Only picture we got today was this one of Emmie doing some crafts early this morning, in just her little leotard, probably right before dance time.

I picked up Addison early today from school, and headed to our pediatrician’s office for her 9-month well check-up. She’s well ahead of all the gross motor skill milestones, and crushing things like crawling and babbling. She’s the tiniest little thing (like her sister), at just 15lbs 5oz, in just the 6th percentile, and 27″ in the 20th percentile. But she’s doing great and growing perfectly!

She’s getting a little eczema on her cheeks (also just like her sister), so we’ll start putting some creams and lotions on her face more often. Oh and also, we’re being referred to an ENT, to possibly/probably get some tubes put in, since she’s now had 4 ear infections in 4 months… So that’s not great news, but hopefully that will keep her well in the long run.

I went back to school to pick up Emerson, and we ran by Grammy’s office for just a quick hello in her parking lot, and then headed back home. Emmie and I played in the backyard just a little bit, while Addie slept in her car seat, before it started sprinkling.

Emmie had cheetos for her afternoon snack, but I tried this new combo from Trader Joe’s, and it was surprisingly really good.

We forgot to take her Valentine’s for her school friends all week, so she wrote her name on the back of all 20 of them, all by herself. (I’ll stick the lollipop’s in them all here in a bit, and we’ll take them to school tomorrow, just a few days late…)

I fed Addie a bottle and watched Survivor, and let Emmie play on her Kindle for a bit.

Then I made a quick dinner (beef tips, rice, & broccoli), and we all ate dinner together. This is the first time we’ve really given Addie some finger foods on her little tray this way, and she did really well with it. She had some puffs, white rice, and I also fed her half a tub of baby food.

Emerson loved this meal, and cleaned her entire plate, so she got to eat her special dessert right away. My coworker made these cute Oreo cookie pops for our whole Bureau for Valentine’s Day, and even made an extra one specifically for Emerson! And she loved it! Thank you, Jeanne!

Emerson used to hook her little toes into the tray exactly like this when she was tiny too. So sweet.

After dinner, I got the kitchen cleaned up a little bit, and also made up some scrambled eggs with sautéed mushrooms to take to the office for my breakfast tomorrow. I’ll also add the chives & cheese & Sriracha in tomorrow as well, just like I made it the other day earlier this week.

Emmie wanted to play with this crazy putty stuff she got in her Valentine’s bag earlier this week, so we all went back to the table, to keep the mess contained, and watch her play.

We started up on the bedtime routine a little bit later than usual, but we brushed her teeth and brushed her hair, and she picked a book to read, and tried to get her settled down.

She was a little worked up, and it took a while to get everything straightened out and get her fully calmed down, but by about 9:30, she was finally asleep. Addison on the other hand was out like a light after I gave her one last bottle, and she was good to go. I’ve got some chores and stuff to take care of, and then I’m heading off to bed…
