So this morning, I completely slept through all of my alarms. And I have three of them. Apparently I turned them off in my sleep, and then kept on sleeping. So then I woke up an hour late! And that meant we were super late getting to school and work this morning, but Emerson was super sweet and cute around the house, so I didn’t mind a little bit of extra time with her. 🙂
I had leftover chicken alfredo & salad from Nana’s house last night for today’s lunch, and since I accidentally forgot my book at home, I just watched Netflix on my phone while I ate.
Emerson had some sort of accident today, so she had a little outfit change, but she was super excited to see Mommy once I got to school to pick her up!
My sweet girl did some coloring at the counter while I cooked, and she was so sweet. For dinner, I made this super easy sausage & veggie pasta that I made once before a few weeks ago, and it was still really yummy again the second time. It’s officially in our meal rotation now, since it’s easy, yummy & makes enough for leftovers.
Jeff used his first weeknight of daylight savings time, to get out in this perfect weather and mow the yard, so Emerson and I had our own little mommy daughter dinner party.
She did this and said, “FINGER NOODLE!” What a goofball.
We watched Daddy mow the yard for a while, and then she got very busy playing with all her things. She started out getting her little gardening cart, saying she wanted to do yard work like Daddy. And then she moved on to every other toy in her “garage.” (We keep all these things in front door alcove & call it her garage.)
Ooh, and I got some goodies! I ordered some wax melts from Antique Candle Co., when Country Pear by Cotton Stem was on sale last week. The wax melts were only $6, and I got free shipping! And they also sent me a small sample of another flavor, which I love!
And because I was feeling crazy, I let Emerson play with the packing peanuts, which she loved of course.
And I also got a new book! I pre-ordered this a few months back, and it was finally released last week. It came in the mail while I was sick, and I didn’t even feel like opening it, but I got it open now, and it’s such a cute book!
After finally getting everything cleaned up in the dining room, we got Emerson ready for bed. But first, we needed to have a few video phone calls with Aunt Megan and Uncle Bo, then Nana, and then Grammy, Papa & Grandmommie!
Emmie was a little reluctant to go to bed tonight, and I’m guessing her little body wasn’t quite caught up to the time change, so she still thought it was an hour earlier than it actually was. It took some rocking from Daddy, and then switching over to me, but after some lullabies, she was finally ready for bedtime, even though it was almost 9pm by then.
And since it took so long for bedtime, I did the blog first instead of dishes, so now I need to head back in there and clean up the kitchen & wash dishes. I’m of course super tired though, so I may only wash my big Dutch oven, and leave the rest of the dishes for tomorrow. And then I need to just collapse into bed!
