Falafel & Feta & New Friends

My beautiful little coordinated girls, looking absolutely precious as always.

Emerson is still just so very proud of her new Bible. I didn’t ask her to pose like this or anything, this was just how she stood and showed off her Bible.

We had another great morning at church (I told Meg I was going to have to stop wearing eye makeup, because I get emotional and cry every single week), followed by a Kindergarten Welcome Pizza Party for lunch.

After the food, they took all the kids back to their classrooms to play, while Megan & Bo talked to all the kindergarten parents about their children’s ministry, and their mission and vision and evens and opportunities, with handouts, magnets, brochures and the September devotionals. It was really well done, and I thought it was a great way to inform the parents entering a new ministry.

We ran back home afterwards, and immediately got everyone down for naptime, including Jeff (on the couch), and myself (in bed with Emmie).

Then we went back to the church to drop-off the girls for childcare, and Jeff and I then split up for the night. We joined a “Connect Group” at GC, and tonight was the first night, with a ladies night at Kairos Mediterranean, and a guys night at Island Wings. This was my first time at Kairos, and I thought everything was delicious. I had a BYO bowl, with all the veggies & dips, and got a side of falafel. (That’s Meg’s food in the back, she also got a bowl and a side of Greek fries.) We had a great time chatting (about 10 women I think), and then decided to also walk across the street for ice cream at Lofty Pursuits.

This was their “Stellar Coffee” flavor, and Meg was freaking out and raving about it, so I think four of us all ended up choosing this flavor, and it WAS incredible.

We headed back to the church to pick up the girls, and then went on home to start bedtime. (We forgot our Walmart order, so Jeff ran back out to grab that super quickly.) I read books with Emmie, and did prayers and devotionals, and then I rocked Addie for a while, trying to get her to sleep.

This is the face she was looking at me with, while I was reading the part in Matilda where she makes the chalk magically write a note to scare Miss Trunchbull, and she was just enraptured.

Both girls needed extra cuddles and loves tonight, so it took a little while to get them both down. But now, I think we were finally able to accomplish it. I’ve already laid out all 10 outfits for the girls for the week, and packed Addie’s bag with a fresh blanket & sheet for naptime. We need to clean out Emmie’s weekly school binder with all her papers and projects, and then we’ll wash up all the sippy cups, and set up the coffee pot, and we’ll be ready to start another week. I’m just really hoping this week is much better than last week, with all of the craziness we went through!
