Emergency Dental Visit

Family donut time before church this morning, where Addie ended up absolutely covered in sugar that was impossible to get off.

Kensley was so so sweet coming to love on Addie Pie after church.

Cutie little girls for after-church sister pics today.

We tried a new-to-us place today down on Pensacola Street, called Pineappetit, and it was super good. Their bowls come inside a hollowed out pineapple, with cilantro lime rice, and your choice of protein, sauce & salsa. Jeff and I both got the chicken one, and I shared with Emmie and Jeff shared with Addie, and all four of us really liked it. I loved it actually. They were super slow right at lunch time, so go visit them! They also have a special soul food Sunday menu, if you wanna give that a try instead.

After lunch, we rinsed out the tie-dye Emerson and I did yesterday, because we forgot to do it last night. And it turned out great, and she loved it so much.

Then of course it was nap time all around once we got that taken care of.

After a short nap myself, I went to Walmart to get our grocery pickup order. Then the girls were playing around and being so cute and sweet and running around being goofy. Then we had plans to go out to dinner with Nana, so she came over to our house…

And then literally right as she got there, Emerson and Addison were crawling under Emmie’s bed, and although I still can’t figure out what exactly happened, she banged her mouth on something and her front tooth was knocked very crooked and pointing forwards out of her mouth. So we made a call to her pediatric dentist, and after I sent the doctor a few photos, they made a special trip to the office to take care of it. (So glad Nana was there to stay with Addie, so Jeff and I could both take Emmie together. Thank you Nana!)

They took a very quick x-ray, and said that it was just barely hanging on by a thread. (They had actually told us over the phone we could try pulling it ourselves, but Emmie wouldn’t even touch it to wiggle it on her own, so that definitely wasn’t going to happen.) The doctor said it was actually so close to coming out, that the laughing gas wasn’t necessary, and just used the super strong numbing gel instead. They had her hold a piece of gauze in her mouth for a few minutes letting it set in, and then when I thought the doctor was going to just grab the gauze out, she actually just yanked the tooth right out. Very sneaky, very quick, and very easy!

And they gave her this popsicle afterwards, and we were literally in & out in 10 minutes! And so now the tooth fairy has to come visit our house again tonight… I better go check my wallet, and hopefully I have a few dollar bills.

Then we got her some mashed potatoes for dinner, and she got some ice cream for dessert, and she was good as new. (It was very traumatic at the house earlier, and she was scared and nervous, and I was nervous that it would be a much longer, more difficult ordeal, so I was so grateful that things actually went so smoothly!)

After Nana headed out, we took a quick minute to tidy up the living room again, and then got the girls changed into their jammies. I had put Emmie to bed in her room, but shortly after she snuck back out to the couch saying she had a bad dream. (But it had only been like 8 minutes, so I don’t know how she could even fall asleep and have a bad dream in that time, but we let her fall back asleep and stay on the couch for a while, since Daddy was still holding baby sister anyways.)

I’ve already laid out some clothes for her for the week, but I need to pack her swim bag for her, because she starts her first day of East Hill Summer Camp tomorrow! I’m so excited for her, and I know she’s so excited too. We’re going to catch up on our favorite travel YouTuber’s now, then I’ll read a little, and then head to bed. I only worked 3 days last week, so 5 days of work this week is gonna be rough, and I need to rest up!
