Eight Dollar Carrots

Addie and her little bestie at church this morning, sent by my friend who was working in the preschool class this morning. She said the preschoolers were all crazy, but these two little sweeties were actually huge helpers!

Our worship pastor was out of town today, so Megan actually led the worship team. I sang with her, and Jeff also worked in the sound booth, and Bo of course was doing all his Children’s Pastor stuff with GC Kids. The whole family was serving this morning, and it was a great Sunday! And these two beautiful sisters were so sweet after church.

A few weeks back, I made some at-home Indian curry (from a jarred sauce), and Emmie actually loved it. We mentioned the nearby Indian buffet and Emmie has been really wanting to try it, so we went today. Jeff and I loved it as always, and Emmie tried paneer butter masala for the first time, and she really liked that. Addie basically just ate raw carrots, so that really wasn’t worth $8 for her, but oh well, we just won’t take her back there 😉

Jeff and Addie had nap time after lunch, and Emmie and I watched “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.” Well, she watched the whole thing, but I fell asleep all snuggled up with her on the couch after about 30 minutes.

Then Emmie helped me clean off the coffee table, and once she went to lay with Addie, I had some time to read.

Tonight was dinner in the fellowship hall at church, followed by Connect Groups. Tonight’s dinner was Swedish meatballs, and it was really yummy. And we had a good group discussion about James 1:19-27 in our group after dinner.

When I picked up Addie afterwards, all her little friends were sitting back at the tables again eating pizza (everyone was on their second slice by then, after eating their first slice around 5:30), and Emmie was double-fisting fruit-filled jello cups. 🤣

I finished a book while we watched our pre-bedtime Bluey episodes, and then we got the girls to bed pretty easily. I need to go do some our usual Sunday night chores to get ready for the week, and then sit down and chill with my hubby a little bit before my own bedtime.
