We’ve had ourselves a big ole day today! First, I took Emerson to school a little bit early today, got her dropped off right at 7:45am, after stopping to fill up my gas tank. Then I went to CHP to get some routine blood work done, before my annual physical next week.
Meanwhile, Jeff took Addison to the pediatrician for her annual well-check appointment, and sadly this poor nugget had to get some routine shots today.

But it was Jeff’s birthday today, and so to celebrate his birthday, and cheer up little sister, they went out for a special daddy-daughter birthday breakfast at Uptown Cafe.

After I left the lab, I was dying for some coffee since I had to fast since midnight last night. Today was “jackpot day” at 7Brew, and today’s special was 2 drinks for $9, so I stopped and got a drink for myself, and I also brought one to my sister at her office!

And Addison did eventually make it to school for a late arrival, after a big delicious breakfast. (Please notice the socks with her jelly shoes, by the way, since she got blisters from them yesterday, but still insisted on wearing them today. I had said she could wear some socks with them around the house this weekend to break them in, but I guess she just decided she’d do that today at school and get the ball rolling!)

For lunch, Meggie picked me up from my office, and we met Mama at Sakura. They had never been there before, and I had only been once or twice, but like, a decade ago! Megan picked out three things for us to all share (teriyaki chicken bento box, chicken hibachi bento box, and the three-roll sushi lunch), and that worked out great. It was really yummy, and we had a great time, just like always.

For Employee Appreciation week at work, we always get a little FDC-branded gift. This year, we got this “challenge coin” which looks really nice, but will just join the other service pins in my desk drawer 😉

And then tonight for Jeff’s birthday dinner, he chose hibachi at Nagoya! Hibachi is literally his favorite, and almost every time we are discussing where to eat, he will always throw out hibachi, but we pretty much never actually go. But tonight his dream came true! Addie was scared of all the noise and the fire, but Emmie loved it and had so much fun! And I had sushi for the second time today 😆

Addison really loved the “chicken noodle soup” though, and after eating as much as she could with the big spoon, she was turning up the bowl to slurp up more! She even ate the mushrooms in it, because we told her it was chicken 😆

When we got home, we put together some teacher appreciation gifts for both of the girls’ teachers. I had bought a big box of goodies from my favorite small shop through TikTok, Elyse Breanne Designs, and I’ve been saving things to use for gifts. And both girls drew very sweet little cards for their teachers, and then I wrote them both a nice note.

I love these little characters Emmie draws. They’re so cute! She’s a talented little artist.

Bedtime was a little later than usual, but the girls were sleepy and ready for bed, and things went quickly and smoothly. I also fell asleep for a bit in Emmie’s bed listening to our lullaby playlist, so I had a little pre-blog-writing-nap. I’m currently watching last nights’ Survivor episode, and ignoring a group text with myself and Bo and Kayla because they’ve already finished it and I don’t want it to get spoiled for me! We’re at tribal counsel now, so it’s tie for some drama…
