Donkey Ride

It was a little chilly before church this morning, and we forgot tights for Emerson, so she was (fake) shivering for these photos on our way into the building.

We had lunch with some friends of ours, Britteny & Stephen, and Emmie’s little church-bestie Elly, to plan an upcoming family camping trip together.

Both girls were dying to get candy out of these little machines up front, but none of us had any quarters. We tried to distract them with the ride on the donkey, but while we were back there, the hostess came and brought us two quarters, saying a lady wanted to give them to us for the girls. So they each ended up getting a handful of candy after all.

When we got home, we got Emerson down for her nap right away. Addison had fallen asleep in her car seat, so she slept a little bit there, then Daddy got her out and held her for her nap for a while, and I napped on the couch for a little bit. This tiny tot woke up in the greatest mood, all smiley and squealy and precious.

This is of course one of Emerson’s hand-me-down outfits. So below is Emerson on the left, wearing the outfit at 16 months old, standing and walking and wearing boots, vs. Addison on the right at 6 months old, barely able to sit up on her own, mostly just rolling around. Most people that see Addie always think she’s tiny, but in comparison with how tiny Emmie really was, Addie is downright huge! 😉 This is a 6-9m outfit, so she’s actually right on track!

After we finally all woke up, fed Addison a bottle, and got moving, we headed over to my aunt and uncle’s house for a Sunday school class fish fry. I actually only took two photos there myself, but Jeff took a few, and I stole a few from my Uncle Keith’s Facebook post. It was nice and cool weather, we had yummy food and good friends to chat with, and we had a good evening together!

Emmie was still hungry when we got home, so I actually made her half a ham sandwich. She ate it while watching a movie, and then we did bedtime. Jeff fed Addie another bottle, and she fell asleep on his shoulder immediately after she finished that.

I got the girls’ clothes all picked out for the week, packed their bags for school for tomorrow, and packed up some of my new snacks and treats to take to work. I need to wash all the bottles later, but first I just wanna sit down and chill for a bit.
