So this very concerned little face is because of a loud motorcycle that went by and scared her a bit…
But that was replaced with interest in the new car pulling up…
Which was replaced with pure elation at seeing her best friend twins get out of the car! She just honestly loves them so much!
Also, she’s rockin’ that Minnie Mouse shirt for Disney day at school today.
I had to get some routine blood work done this morning for my upcoming well-check doctor’s appointment, so after finishing up at LabCorp, I remembered I had a free 4-count chicken mini’s reward in my CFA app. I was so excited I had remembered it, and proud of myself that I didn’t let it expire.
Around 3:15pm, I got really antsy at my desk (in my nearly empty office), so I just had to get out for a bit, so I went on a short little walk for my afternoon break. I was pretty gray and cloudy though, but I went anyways. On my way back however, it started sprinkling on me, so I had to really pick up the pace so I didn’t get soaked. (Spoiler, it didn’t really start raining but I thought it might.)
Look at this super sweet baby girl, and all the fun she had at school today!
I messaged Jeff right before I left work, asking him to set out some ingredients I needed, and preheat the oven starting at 5:30, so that as soon as I got home, I could throw together a recipe for quick bread and get it into the oven as quickly as possible. I wanted to have it for dinner tonight with the frittatta, so I needed to get it in the oven fast since it needed to bake for an hour.
After getting the break mixed up & in the oven super fast, I got started chopping veggies and preparing the frittatta. Jeff and Emerson helped by pulling the stems off the spinach leaves, because I’m picky like that 😉 This has easily become one of my favorite meals lately, and I’m so glad I finally took the risk to try it for the first time back in February for my tea party. (And check out Daddy wearing his Star Wars shirt for Disney day.)
And y’allllll…. this bread turned out amazing! It’s got this super buttery, super crunch crust, and it was so stinking good.
Last time I made this, I made Emmie cheese noodles for dinner, because I wasn’t sure she’d want this. But she tried mine, and ended up loving it and eating a lot from my plate. So when I told her on the way home hat I was making, she specifically requested her own “battatta” on her Lion King plate.
In honor of Disney day, we started introducing her to “Cinderella” tonight (which is Aunt Meggie’s favorite classic Disney movie and favorite princess), and she was really into it. She was so sweet watching it.
She sat on the potty before getting dressed for bedtime, but didn’t do anything except look cute…
She was very excited for her dark chocolate covered almond for her bedtime snack. I gave her two, she ate one before going potty, and then saved this one so she could eat it while we read her bedtime Bible story.
After reading and prayers and lullabies (and like 50 sweet kisses from her), she laid down and seemed ready to go to sleep. But since I left her bedroom, she’s been crazy in there, flopping around and singing and chatting to herself. She might be finally calming down now after 15 minutes of that, so I’m hoping she’ll fall asleep soon.
