Disgusting Piccata

Precious little sweetie pies this morning. When I sent these pictures to the family group text this morning, Meg was like, “Emerson’s killing me with these chokers!” And I was like, “Oh actually I have a story about that!”

So you know I lay out her outfits on her dresser for the whole week. Then this morning I grabbed her outfit, told her to come get dressed with me in my room, and walked out. To which she replied, “Wait, she me the outfit so I can pick out a choker!” So I just hollered the outfit was blue and pink, and she came in with the blue choker to match 🤣

We didn’t get any photos of Addie from school today, but I assume she still had a good day. I got stuck working on a late emergency case this afternoon, so Jeff picked up the girls from their schools. And I still left in time to make it home about five minutes before them.

I got this chicken piccata from the refrigerated prepared foods at Trader Joe’s the other day, wanting to have something different. I’ve had it before from restaurants, so just wanted to try this. But guys, this was terrible. Luckily, I had just made a turkey sandwich for Emmie, and a snack plate for Addie, and Jeff and I just ate the mashed potatoes & garlic green beans. Neither of us ate more than one bite of this chicken, because it was just absolutely terrible. (I ended up making a turkey pita after getting the girls down, since I was still hungry from this disgusting stuff. DON’T try it.)

The girls splashed around in the bath for a long time, and I just read my book (sitting on the closed toilet), while they played and giggled and Emmie asked me a hundred questions.

They were so cute and sweet in their little matching nightgowns. We had a little bit of nice cuddle time together reading a book and watching Bluey, but then both of them ended up having meltdowns for different reasons, and both had to be calmed down. But once they were under control, they were sweet again, and ready for bedtime.

Emerson took some time to read her book on her own again for herself, while I rocked Addison, since Jeff was outside working on replacing the brakes or the rotors or something-or-other on my car. But I got them both down for bedtime, without too much of a struggle, and they’re sound asleep now. Jeff came in and got cleaned up, and I had a turkey & hummus pita since I was still hungry after that nasty dinner. Time to read a little bit now, still trying hard to read as much as I can before book club this Friday night…
