Only one girly went off to school today, because little sis got a fever yesterday and had to stay home. So Jeff took Emmie to school, and I stayed home to take care of Addie Pie.
We had a very slow morning on the couch together, in which I dozed off & on and she watched a movie on her Kindle. Finally around 9:30, we kinda got up and moving, and she was feeling good and wanted to play dress-up and do some things. So she put on her Elsa dress, and I let her put stickers on her Kindle case, and I also put fresh stickers on my water botttle. Then she was very excited and proud to put her Kindle in her new carrying case that Grandmommie got her for her birthday.
We had some leftovers for lunch, and then I got her down for a nap. I washed dishes while listening to my audio book, and tidied up the kitchen counter and the living room. Then I made a giant iced coffee in a recently emptied, cleaned, & recycled Greek peppers jar (my first coffee of the day actually), and kept listening to my audio book. I finished coloring this picture I started weeks ago, and then Addie Pie woke up. She laid down next to me on the couch though and went back to sleep for another hour or so, so I colored another picture.
We picked up Emmie early from school (she requested to be picked up around 4pm), and just having Emmie home really rejuvenated Addie again! They had lots of playtime together, doing all sorts of hoopla, making a mess, and even getting Pennie involved in their schemes. I’m hoping she just needed a good day of rest, and that she’ll be fine tomorrow!
Addie really didn’t eat much for breakfast or lunch (literally, like 2 or 3 bites of each), so I wanted to make something I thought she’d eat for dinner. So I made chicken nuggets, and rice and butter beans, and not only did she eat really well, but she had a second helping of rice. We ate in the living room so we could watch “The Lego Movie” while we ate.
We had an early dinner, and then put the girls in the bath for a long time to play, and then watched a little more of The Lego Movie (but didn’t quite finish it yet). Addie wore these bunny ears after bath time for a long time, and finally took them off when it was time to read her bedtime books.
We’ve got both girls to sleep now, and I think I’m going to listen to my audio book more (trying to read as much as possible of a giant book before book club on Friday), and color a little bit before bedtime.
