Couch Naps

Started the day with a delicious breakfast pizza from Walmart – it’s a biscuit crust, with white gravy “sauce,” topped with scrambled eggs, cheese & sausage, and WOW it’s so good. And Addie was finally back to eating normal today, after almost a week of her barely eating anything!

We spent an hour or two doing a few chores, and Emerson put on her leotard, tights and tutu, and “went to high school to teach a ballet class.”

Jeff went back over to his Dad’s church to do some more computer stuff for them, so it was just me and the girls for a while. Addie had herself a little snack, and then passed out for nap time.

Emmie and I had the leftover hibachi rice from yesterday’s lunch, and she requested we watch “The Greatest Showman” together. She was watching it so intently, and very interested in it, until she passed out too. So I put “The Sound of Music” on again for some background noise, and read for a while, until I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer either.

I just couldn’t stop taking pictures of her perfect little sleeping face.

Addison woke up before Emerson, so I played with her for a while and left Emerson on the couch, then the two of us came back up front to wake her up.

Then the girls and I got ready to head over to hang out at Nana’s house for a while, since Jeff and Dave were still working at the church. Emerson recently found my tub of old headbands I used to wear every single day in college, and she’s been obsessed with them. So she picked out this one to wear today, and found this belt of Addie’s that she wanted to wear too. (And only after this photo did we realize her dress was on backwards 😉 )

She volunteered to do a little cleaning, to earn a couple more dollars for her missions Buddy Barrel. Please notice the yellow rubber glove used just for some light dusting

After a little while, Jeff and Dave took a break to meet us out for dinner at Pepper’s. (Forgot to take any pictures of the guys, but they were there.) And I had these delicious carnitas tacos, and Addison ate literally every single bite of my rice.

It was sprinkling ever so lightly, and Emmie insisted on using her umbrella on the 10 steps out to the car after dinner. She’s so stinking cute though! Also, she was wearing socks with her jelly’s to try to break them in a little bit more…

Beautiful sunset skies on the drive back across town towards home.

Jeff was still there working at the church while I did bedtime with the girls. It went a little rough, but I got them both down eventually, and was very proud of myself.

Thankfully, Addison has remained fever-free all weekend now, so after a full week of sickness, she was so much better today, and almost back to her normal self today. We’re planning on sending her back to school tomorrow, so hopefully we’ll be back to our normal routine. And we’re just praying that everyone stays healthy for a while!
