Clouds & Axolotles

These were two very smiley girlies first thing this morning! And both looking so cute in “new” dresses. Emmie’s is actually new, but Addie’s is a hand-me-down from big sister. I just pulled out a box full of 3T clothes the other day, so she’s got lots of “new” outfits now.

Late August & Early September are always some of the best, and my favorite, early morning sunrises. These poofy, scattered clouds are my fave, and it’s that time of year now, where we know fall is on the horizon…

Addie wanted a picture with “this guy” on our way into school.

This is just a very sweet picture of these two in the car drop-off line at school today.

After picking up the girls from school and heading home, Jeff took them out for a little walk with Pennie, while I got everything ready for dinner. (Addie had a little potty incident at school, so she had an outfit change after nap time. But this is another one of those “new” 3T hand-me-downs from big sister.)

I actually made this bacon, egg & cheese breakfast casserole last night, so tonight, I just baked some biscuits, and then microwaved most of the casserole. While the biscuits were baking, I was doing little chores around the house, and washing dishes with music playing on the tv, and it was a super chill evening.

After dinner, Jeff and Addie ran to Walgreens for Sudafed and Splenda. I put on a record, lit a new candle, and started a new puzzle while Emmie finished up her homework.

We bought this Christmassy candle on clearance that claims it “neutralizes pet odor” about six months ago, which ended up being right before our sweet little Pretzel died. Then we were all sad and in our feelings about it this pet candle when we didn’t have a pet, but we just saved it. I was happy to pull it out tonight now that we have a new doggie, and it does smell really nice!

After that super hard citrus puzzle, with 1000 of the tiniest pieces, I wanted to swing towards the opposite end of the spectrum. So tonight, I chose to get started on one of my new ones from Amazon, that’s only 300, rather large pieces, which I can probably finish in a day or two!

Emerson chose this book about axolotls from her school library today, and although they’re super weird and kinda creepy looking, she loved reading about them!

Both girls were having a bit of a rough time right before bedtime, just whiny and crying and tired. But once we actually started on their bedtime routines, both were asleep in no time flat. Since I did a bunch of dishes earlier tonight, we only have the dirty forks and plates from dinner, and those can wait until another day. Time for a movie and some puzzling with my hubby now!
