I treated the family to French toast and oven-baked bacon this morning for breakfast, which was delicious. (Even if the teenage boys were grumpy about being made to wake up “early” at 8:30am, although of course Emmie had gotten us up at 6am…)
This tiny girl ate an entire piece of French toast an a piece of bacon, and was so proud of herself for being in the “clean plate club” today.
After breakfast, we lazed around for about an hour or so, and then around 10am, finally decided to get moving on some much-needed chores around the house. Jeff and the boys and Emmie worked on all manner of things in the dining room & carport, while I washed a load of dishes, cleaned the kitchen, folded a load of laundry, and did some general tidying up here and there.
Emmie ate cheese noodles for lunch, and then we took turns drawing on her little tablet, and then as I was reading her the Princess Jasmine story from the Princess bedtime storybook, she started laying down on my leg and closed her eyes and couldn’t even make it through the story. So we quit reading, and she went down for her nap super easily!
The boys were all still outside working in the carport, so I fixed lunch for just myself (and they took care of themselves when they came in later). I had a cheese sandwich (can’t eat deli meat when you’re pregnant, womp womp), my very favorite “chips” (the Ritz crisp & thins original, that are like, creamy onion flavored and soooo good), and finally tried my refrigerator pickles for the first time, that I “made” earlier this week, which were actually super yummy! I washed it down with iced coffee, and ended on the caramel Bugles that Aunt Suzanne made for yesterday. And this was such a good lunch!!
I watched Netflix and relaxed while Emmie napped, and Jeff and the boys went out to meet Nita for some Black Friday clothes shopping at Old Navy, since they’re forever and a day growing out of their decent church clothes. Emerson slept for almost two hours, and then once she woke up, we hunt out for just a little bit, and then we headed over to Nana’s house.
She specifically requested a bun in her hair, and wanted me to take a photo of it so she could see that back of it. It looked pretty cute!
The boys picked out this cute little Christmas book while they were at Marshall’s, and Ryan read it to her in the kitchen floor when we got there.
Nana and I worked in tandem adding all the ingredients together to make her famous chicken and rice, and added some corn and green beans on the side, and we had a delicious dinner. (Forgot to take any photos until we were done eating.)
After dinner, Emmie played in her kitchen, the boys helped Nana dig out the Christmas bins from the closets & bring them downstairs, Jeff made homemade chocolate chip cookies, and I just kicked back on the reclining couch, where Jeff covered me up with not one, but two, thick cozy blankets.
Not very flattering, but it’s funny and makes me laugh.
One scoop of the cookie dough, followed up a while later by two deliciously warm cookies!
Ryan read her Christmas book to her again, and then she gave them both super sweet nighttime hugs.
Bedtime went pretty smoothly tonight, and she settled in for sleep without too much difficulty. Jeff got the boys to help with another chore or two, and then they all settled in the living room. I’ve been blogging and watching Netflix in the front room, so once I finish my episode, I’ll head in there with them soon. Night friends!
