Chocolate Coffee

This sweet baby girl woke up a little too early this morning, so while I hopped in the shower, and Daddy wasn’t quite awake yet, Emmie watched a few videos while snuggled up in Mommy’s spot.

And even though we usually do our advent calendars at night, she was insistent on doing it this morning, so after I tried & failed to talk her into waiting, we went ahead and moved an ornament this morning before school.

It was also her idea to wear two hair bows this morning (with her new pre-Christmas outfit from Aunt Suzanne & Uncle Keith), and I can’t say it isn’t adorable!

Today was another day of Netflix and lasagna for lunch, and I enjoyed every bite and every minute of it. I also found out late this afternoon that I’m getting a pay raise (along with 7 or 8 other people that are the same job title as I am), and I’m so super pumped about it! It was great news today especially, because work was absolutely bananas this afternoon, and we found out right before Christmas!

Looks like Tater Tot had a great day at school today, and tons of treats at their Christmas party this afternoon!

Grammy and Grandmommie picked up Emerson from school today, and I met the three of them for dinner at Panera. Papa wasn’t feeling good, so he went home, and Jeff actually drove to north Georgia today, to meet to pick up the boys for the Christmas break. So it was just a girls’ dinner, and we had a nice, cozy meal together. And my plate of carbs was delish 😉

We went home after dinner, and Emmie helped feed Pretzel, then we both got changed into our nightgowns, and we made some “chocolate coffee” (which is what she calls hot chocolate) together, and we went on a hunt for Sheppy.

While the chocolate coffee cooled down in the kitchen, we read a few Christmas books together. I sang this whole book, and she looked on at the book and at me, so calmly and sweetly while I sang.

 

She was incredibly sweet tonight, and I really enjoyed our Mommy & Me time at home together. She was easy to put to sleep tonight, and just so cuddly and precious, giving me tons of hugs & kisses.

Jeff and the boys will be home a little bit, but until they get here, I’m going to snuggle in and enjoy some quiet time by myself, with hot tea and Netflix.
