So we’re back to a mostly-regular schedule this week. Jeff is still working from home, but I am back to full-time at the office, and Emerson is back to full-time at daycare. But first, Emerson was very happy to learn this morning that not only did Daddy bring her a few chocolate munchkins yesterday, but he also bought a pink donut!
She frequently brings a little animal or friend on the car rides to school, but today, she insisted on bringing one of her largest stuffed animals, but it was so sweet! She hugged and kissed it goodbye, and squealed with excitement when I set the unicorn up in her car seat for the day.
She got in the habit over the weekend (for some random, unknown reason), of lifting up her dress. We told her over and over again to put her dress down, but she kept doing it. She started doing it again this morning, so I tried to stress that we definitely don’t lift up our dresses at school, or anywhere in public, so I’m hoping she didn’t continue doing this all day long.
We did drop-off in the lobby again today, so one of the teachers came and got her from me in the lobby, instead of me walking her to the classroom, just to help reduce the amount of people/germs walking in & out of the classrooms each day. But it went great, and she walked off down the hall by herself, with no issues!
I had my annual well-woman exam at NFWC this morning, which was interesting to say the least, with all the new safety precautions in place. But since my appointment was earlier, and they’re scheduling fewer patients right now, I was in and out of there in like, 40 minutes total! It was probably the fastest appointment I’ve ever had there.
I had leftover vegetable beef soup & cornbread from Saturday for my lunch today, and everything was still super good & yummy. I also started a new library book. I actually picked this one up just a day or two before the libraries all closed, but I’m just now starting it. Luckily for me though, my loan on it was extended into the beginning of May though, so I’ll have plenty of time to finish it!
Emerson had a good day at school, and she loved playing with Play-Doh today. She also got back into the habit of using the tiny toilet, so I’m really glad for that, since she didn’t pee on the toilet for us even once during our time at home all last week, but she went in the potty three times at school!
I picked her up after school, and we headed on home. Jeff had run out to CVS to pick up a couple of our prescriptions, so while we waited on him to get back, we had some trail mix for a snack, before getting started on dinner.
When I made the frittata last night, I cooked a pound of sausage, but only used half of it, and saved the other half. I also only used half of each of the green & red bell peppers last night, and half the bag of spinach. So, I wanted to make something tonight using all of that stuff, so that it didn’t get wasted. So I made naan bread pizzas! And they were super delicious!!
Oh and an older lady at Nita’s church is making these homemade masks, so she made three for our little family, including a tiny Hello Kitty one for Emerson. It’s actually still too big for her for her teeny face/head, but it was a really sweet gesture.
The naan pizzas were yummy, but we were still a little hungry. Emerson had requested popcorn, and I thought that sounded like an excellent decision. (We use that silicon bowl on the left & fresh kernels, and pop it in the microwave, then add butter & salt. And yummmm.)
And Jeff made us some chocolate chip cookies, from a roll of Toll House cookie dough, for dessert. Also so good! And this sorta, technically makes pandemic baking adventure #5 in the past week. We let Emerson have half of one before bedtime, hoping she wouldn’t get too hopped up on sugar.
We had a good bedtime, and she was super sweet and cuddly, and I just couldn’t stop kissing her tonight. There are only a few dirty dishes from today, and those have already been rinsed and will wait patiently until I feel ready to deal with them tomorrow.
For the past two nights, we watched “Onward” on Disney+ (not two times, just split into two nights), and it was pretty cute. But now we need to go find ourselves something new to watch tonight. After we watch an episode of “Jeopardy” on Hulu that is… So now it’s finally my turn to grab some chocolate chip cookies, and a glass of milk and get comfy on the couch.
